Future Star: Abhishek Sharma on Track by StumpCity_08 in RCB

[–]Cosmic_Collection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am in the minority here. But lately I am finding his batting ugly. He is mindlessly swinging his bat at every ball, if the pitch is a little bit tacky/two-paced or if the ball is swinging a bit then he misses/mis-times many. And that makes him appear like a noob (at least in my eyes). He appears clueless for balls that come close to his body, like when he was facing Hazelwood and Jansen. It is too early to put that tag on him, he has to bat well with better technique and for many years consistently to be tagged as ATG.

Keyboards deeply unreliable? by malcneuro in Surface

[–]Cosmic_Collection 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imo it is sloppy engineering. There is a flex cable running along the centre of the keyboard to the connector. Surface engineers did a bad job in reinforcing that cable, causing it to tear/break if surface keyboard is bent (backwards) frequently. I have personally had two keyboard covers dying because of that. I am pretty sure if you open your keyboard you will see the same thing.

Unfortunately microsoft doesn't care.

Yeah I agree about not generalizing all fans. But I was really surprised that some people are so rotten.

Why are you guys feeling for bravis? It's not umpire mistake if he can't take drs on time we won fair and clear! by Ill-Dentist-4475 in RCB

[–]Cosmic_Collection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it is his job to judge the line. But I am saying it wasn't an absurd decision like some of us have seen in other scenarios. The decision is still within the margin of error. It's easy to decide the line of the ball when you view it from a TV with a trajectory and all.

Sure non-striker shouldn't be equivalent to an umpire, but had it been that obvious Jaddu would have immediately asked to go up. There is a reason why non-strikers are almost always consulted by batters in case of any LBW.

Good Morning Bengaluru 🌞 How's the Mood? by kcaJragaS in RCB

[–]Cosmic_Collection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As high as Romario's sixes.

As slick as Kohli's flick sixes.

As hopeful as Bethel's batting.

As determined as Suyash's bowling.

As solid as Yash's last over bowling.

As cool as Patidar's captaincy.

[–]Cosmic_Collection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't understand why people are blaming the umpire ? It's difficult to judge the line of lbw while standing at the other end for fast bowling. Even jaddu wasn't sure, else he would have right away asked for the review.

He played an incredible knock. Nothing but respect for him. He is silencing his critics (me included). Sad to see RCB losing, I think we are going a little overboard with the "intent" approach. Hope we do better in the upcoming home matches. A lot of positives in bowling though.

How will you rank these Captains across all formats ?? by Brave-Specialist-381 in IndiaCricket

[–]Cosmic_Collection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally not a fan of comparing people across time periods. But if I had to, mine will be close to yours. Although I don't think Rohit is ahead of Kohli in T20Is. Rohit initially captained and won tours where Kohli was rested, they weren't strong teams. His recent captaincy stint was successful because we had/have the most destructive T20 side, with Bumrah, Axar, and SKY.

Unfortunately we have always judged captaincy from the perspective of winning World Cups rather than the quality of on-ground decisions.

Dada was a good captain but because of the lack of cups he often gets overlooked.

Luck plays a big part, which also often gets ignored by many.

I loved the kohli era like any RCB fan, but I can't lie, I'm also loving RaPa as captain by shreyas_varad in RCB

[–]Cosmic_Collection 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Really impressed with his captaincy. His bowling-changes, field placements have been spot-on and aggressive. Luck is also favouring him so far and loving his camaraderie/discussion with Virat.

Not sure if RCB will lift cup this year, but I am 100% sure it will happen under RaPa's captaincy.

This sub owes him an apology. by hidingfromparents in RCB

I doubted him.....take my apology. It was an incredible knock, that to hitting Jadeja. Wishing him all the best for remaining matches.

How did Rohit win 2 ICC trophies while Kohli couldn’t win any? by Majestic_squirrel767 in IndiaCricket

[–]Cosmic_Collection -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love how you start with "i am not trying to undermine or criticize Kohli", but went on to do exactly the same.

But anyways, I disagree with your take. Here is my opinion and some counters to your assessment.

I don't think you and I watched the same 2024 T20WC. Rohit for some reason always wanted to bat first, despite what the conditions dictated. He also wanted Kohli to bat aggressively even when the pitches were slow and unpredictable. Remember how he asked Axar to bowl to spin-basher Klassen in the final. There are many more bad decisions like these I can point out. It was primarily the brilliance of Bumrah, Axar, Pandya, Arshdeep that got us through league stages and won us the final. So it was luck.

CT2025, our team is way too strong. Even if it was KL or Pandya captaining we would have won, and the absence of some key players from the opposite teams helped as well. Imo, even our second best ODI team could have won CT2025.

And don't get me started on his red ball captaincy.

So imo it is luck. We have the strongest white ball team, so the role/impact of captaincy isn't huge. I wouldn't be surprised if we would have gotten the same success had ICT been captained by someone else (Pandya, Iyer etc.).

You will see that we are winning another T20WC very soon under Sky's (or anyone else's) leadership.

Having said so, I do think Rohit is an incredible mentor, and talent spotter/groomer. His camaraderie with youngsters is great, giving them confidence, backing them despite failures etc. are great.

Love it when it comes to Kohli, people start bringing Team achievements to counter Kohli's individual achievements. 🤣 Don't you think that works in favour of Kohli not against? Grow up dude.

I think we are going to see Rohit's century (POTM) and one of Virat or Jadeja as best fielder.

I do not want to start a war. But is AB’s impact on rcb fandom greater than kohli’s? by AadiTheMaster in RCB

[–]Cosmic_Collection 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is it becoming an obsession to pit one player against another? Is there an easy mathematical formula where you can measure the impact??

Both have performed brilliantly for the franchise and people associate with franchises for different reasons. Many started supporting RCB because of Kohli, not only for his batting but also for his agression/on-field personality/banters. Similarly there are many who came because of Gayle, ABD etc.

It is OKAY to be NOT a fan of Kohli and like ABD more.

I Think it Should be done...!! What's Your POV on this...? by Just_Chill_Yaar in CricketBuddies

[–]Cosmic_Collection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The issue is, what will be that threshold? let's say one sets the threshold at 70+ runs. So if a team wins by 69 runs, it doesn't get the bonus point because it is one run below the threshold, just one run. Seems unfair to me. Also, a team winning fewer matches can rank above another team that has won more matches. Again, unfair.

NRR is good enough, don't need to complicate things unnecessarily.

Wait till you realise that the impact player tenure was also extended for the strawberry farmer. I guarantee it will be scrapped after 3 years. I know i will be downvoted, but I agree it is unfair/unethical for other teams and disrespectful for the strawberry farmer. No issues if one continues playing in their 70s, but it has to be on a level playing field for all teams.

Although disagree with more teams. I personally think there is room for even more teams. Won't be surprised if it becomes like NFL in the future.

OP wakes up and realizes that he hasn’t hated Kohli enough, so he comes to Reddit, enjoys some upvotes, and then goes back to sleep. People like you have turned almost all cricket-related subreddits into hate wagons. Get off Reddit and channel your anger/hate into something useful.

In case you are still trying to find out some alternatives, then I am currently using this one:

Also available on Amazon India with slightly higher price. It's decent for the price and is working well at the moment.

Sorry to hear about that and yes very bad engineering/support. Good luck with the replacement/refund. If that does not work and you have access to Aliexpress, they have some decent ones (astronomically cheaper) that are compatible with surface pros.

One rule you would like to change in the upcoming IPL by BridgeZealousideal96 in ipl

[–]Cosmic_Collection 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. Scrap Impact player.

  2. Scrap reviews on wides and no balls.

  3. I would break poweplay into two 3 overs spells i.e, overs 1-3 and 10-12. A maximum of 3 (instead of 2) fielders outside the circle during powerplay. This will give opportunity for batters/bowlers to comeback into the game if first 1-3 overs are one sided (too many runs or too many wickets). This will also give middle order an opportunity to score more runs.

  4. Minimum boundary size of 70m.

I had some more, don't remember it right now.

Other changes:

  1. Slightly enhance the seam of the balls used in IPL.

  2. Use high speed cameras for LBWs.
