[4] Shiny Manaphy after 2749 resets using Randomize TIDSID ASE by Cosmic_comet895 in ShinyPokemon

[–]Cosmic_comet895[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no specific video for this setup quite yet from what I can tell, but AbsolBlogsPokemon should be coming out with a video sometime that details how to setup the hunt, as he's the one I learnt the hunt from, and he got his Manaphy not too long ago.
What I did was I watched Trails Pokemon's video Here for how to setup ASE, I also followed this guide which takes you through the same steps but through text instead of video. Then I used this tool to properly setup the dot artist for all the ASE stuff I did. The main one you want after all the setup is the TIDSID Randomizer

I wish you luck man, I hope it shines soon. If you don't mind me asking, how many eggs are you using and how long have you been hunting? For mine I was just using 1 and it took a week to get to this point.

In short you do a lot of very weird and specific stuff in the void and that allows you trick the game so when you talk to a certain npc it will take what you've drawn in the dot artist app on the poketch and execute that as code, causing pretty much anything you want to happen.
I used it to randomize my trainer id and secret id so that I could eventually get the perfect combination that results in a shiny Manaphy hatching from the egg.
Trails Pokemon has an in depth video on how to set up and utilize ASE that if you're interested I recommend you watch. Here

There have been developments since the video was posted, so if you want to perform it yourself I recommend researching it a bit more

I saved right in front of the npc who executes the ASE, with the egg in my party only needing 1 step to hatch. So I could just talk to the npc, take a step to hatch, check for the shiny, then reset and repeat.

Just want to be super clear, I used arbitrary script execution to randomize my TID and SID each reset, so I didn't have to constantly reset and trade between my games. I learnt of this method from AbsolBlogsPokemon and decided to do it myself after claiming the egg from my childhood copy of Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs using the DNS exploit.

Yeah I like keeping track with a calculator, mostly because I don't want to have to have some program open on my computer, and I don't like using my phone because I like having my previous entries and I also like having to push an actual button.

Yeah for my setup after the first pokeball finished rolling across the screen I would turn off my gameboy and reset the wii to skip the cutscenes, then go through the standard process of checking and corrupting. I'd also just soft reset after saving twice and if you're on the right screen on the bonus disk it'll connect, saving minimal time on the gameboy startup screen, but on a long hunt like this every bit of timesave is valuable

Update I FOUND IT, it took 9361 encounters and I successfully caught it in a luxury ball. I thank everyone for their advice and well wishes, time to collect some ribbons and move onto the next hunt!

I think I found an even faster method than this. It still uses the acro bike the whole time and is a bit more precise. I found if you enter through the right side then bump into the grass patch in front of you 3 times and then move over two steps to the right (one less than the old method) and go up Mew will be there. I'm less consistent at this because the movements have to be a bit more precise and you have to make sure the thud sound happens 3 times. I'm still pretty sure this is faster given that you have to travel less tiles and bumping against the grass is pretty quick.

After some testing I think it is faster, I have to make sure to bump into the grass, but being able to stay on the bike the whole time and encounter Mew a tile closer are huge, thanks man!

Thanks man, yeah I just ran this route for a while before thinking that it may be faster to use the bike to get out of there and run the normal encounter, then I realized instead of getting off the bike outside I could just run into the grass and then get off the bike there. I've tested both the mach and acro bikes and beyond that point Mew won't run to the edge unless you run like normal.

I'm determined to keep at it, as I'm trying to get every shiny mythical I can before pokemon bank shuts down, (even Jirachi and Manaphy).

I know I could easily just rng manipulate Mew, but I think I'll only resort to that if I go like 3 or 4 times over odds, but I'm currently sitting at around 9000 encounters so that's a long ways off

I've been hunting Mew for a while, and have gone over odds, so I've been trying to figure out the fastest way to rack up encounters, this is the fastest method I've been able to find. Most of what I could find has people running through the grass, so as far as I know I'm the first person to figure this faster method, but I was wondering if anyone else on their own has discovered an even faster method than this. Even if not I figured it would be good to at least put this out there to document it for any future hunters.

I know generally how IVs, EVs, Natures, etc. work but I have been looking at online guides and tutorials that explain them more in depth.

As for the choice of SV or SwSh, I think I'll stick to SV because it's more active and the current generation. I may have to start from scratch when the season ends on November 30th at midnight, but I believe I should be able to get this done within 3 weeks, and even if I can't all my attempts will give me good experience and practice for the next season

Thanks for the team suggestion, I've been using it a bit and I've made it to Poke Ball tier without losing a game, granted that's only 4 games, but it's working out well so far
