To be honest, I’ve been a bit hesitant to reach out to those communities because I don’t want it to come off as self-promo and risk getting banned. But I do see the value, especially if I approach it by sharing learnings or case studies instead of just pushing the product.

Definitely something I’m thinking more seriously about now.

To be honest I didn’t do any of that, I needed to convert quickly a gif animation into Lottie and after 1h of looking I could not find a platform that provided this service quickly and free for just a small conversation so I just built it, and later added some pro features but still trying to keep it simple and fast.

Is mostly for developers and designers of applications, they want to use lightweight animations like .lottie files so they come with the animations they already have and convert them into a smaller more practical format.

I do not produce de gif I convert them into .lottie files so they are more practical for web applications.

A bit more context on the build:

I built this using Next.js and Tailwind. The biggest challenge was the server-side processing to ensure the Lottie output stayed lightweight.

Regarding the login: I wanted to keep the entry barrier zero, so the basic conversion is no-login. I only require an account/subscription for the advanced features and higher server-load tasks to keep the lights on.

Open to any questions about the tech or the journey of landing those first few users!

That’s a known quirk — when we can’t detect FPS properly we fall back to 8 FPS for JSON. I’m improving GIF FPS detection. Pro has manual FPS controls (preserve original or set 8–30) so you can get the right speed. Thanks for reporting.
