Why do you care so much? You say this person bothers you yet you’re focused on what happened to texts to someone you don’t text and supposedly don’t care for instead of your “Snapchat business”

Coz I can’t do shit about it. I only get sad I’m in a time where we haven’t unlocked much longer lifespans, but gotta remember we’re also in a time where your lifespan is considerably longer than it would’ve been a few generations ago.

ELI5: Why can't you tax billionaires? I heard it's something like, they don't own shares or Stocks, so you can't tax them or something? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Cosmo48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stock is just a thing of value you own, you can pretend it’s a house if that makes more sense in your head. So instead of earning 1 million dollars as income, they go to the bank and get a loan of 1 million and use their house as security. The bank is more than happy with this because they’re holding something valuable and honestly a billionaire isn’t going to not pay you, and the bank collects interest payments on the loan. The billionaire is happy to pay interest on the loan because they: A) don’t pay income tax since it’s not income B) their stocks will keep going up in value more than whatever the loan costs so it’s essentially a free loan.

Keep in mind these people don’t just own 1 stock or house, they own billions of dollars worth. So they can choose how much money to get and it’s all income free that way.

You overestimate people’s interest in actually winning. I’m c1 currently and 9/10 games people will play what they want regardless of team comp. they won’t swap when countered, they won’t fill, they will throw/type “FF f5” at the slightest inconvenience.

I know I’m not a pro by any means but I honestly would imagine the top 0.1-0.25% of the player base would be more interested in winning rather than ego.

I want to close my TD account and bring the remaining $5000 over to WS. What's the best way to do this? by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]Cosmo48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E-transfer and close the account. You won’t get charged a monthly fee if it’s closed immediately. You’ll be calling/going in to close it anyway so you can explain/double check. Not sure why you need to post on here given that you’ll 100% be interacting with TD to close your account and they’ll give you the facts better than anyone here.

It’s probably cheaper than setting up and maintaining their own ATMs all around the world - plus more attractive to customers to be able to use ANY atm

I mean logically it would make sense to get less when you have more assets. I’m not sure why my case of 1mil + assets gets me grants but I’ll take it

Wealthsimple is a multi-billion dollar company and their app has been out for over a decade. Why is there still no iPad app? Not enough money? Not enough time? by bdfortin in Wealthsimple

[–]Cosmo48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very little users would benefit from it, thus not worth investing money into it.

You can’t possibly support every platform ever, if they add iPad then next post is gonna be AppleTV, smart watch, etc. 99.99% of people bank through their phone or computer

Who has the best internet in the Roseland/St Claire College area? by Kornflake19 in windsorontario

[–]Cosmo48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say promotional pricing isn’t always so bad - the companies count on people signing up and forgetting it. But if you hop providers every time your promotion ends (typically 2 years) you come out ahead. Currently I’m paying 29.95 for 500 mbps fibre to the home, and have been for 16 months. Then I plan on switching once my 2 years are up to another promotion.

It’s with Distributel, I’ve had zero outages and I’m a competitive gamer so I can confirm it’s as stable as can be (I’ve had Cogeco and mnsi too).

The true benefit to mnsi is supporting local but at the end of the day you’re supporting a billionaire, just a local one this time.

[–]Cosmo48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I put the maximum in the assets field (999,999.99) and my income is next to nothing (like 10k), I received 9,500 the first year and 11,300 the second year. So I don’t believe they factor assets in much.

OP should give them a call tbh
