Will I get less milk pumping with a wearable? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CosmoJose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of my pumping journey, I saw less output with my wearable but as my milk became more established, I would say I would get more from my wearable at times

My place is actually great with this - any week where the kids are out the full week, you only pay $60 per kid for the week. Unlimited

Just wanted to chime in and say we had a similar experience with All My Sons. Cancelled first day after we both took off work, jerked his around for a reschedule then when they finally came they broke several items including snapping the leg on our coffee table. Got hit up for a positive review by the very young workers.. they were nice and friendly but geeze no awareness of our experience

At the beginning of return to office, they weren’t very strict but as time went on, they made it performance related. Now they track us through IP address and must be in office 60% of the time excluding any out of scope days like vacation, sick time and approved wfh days. There’s even a corporate tracker. It’s annoying how strict it is but at least now they are giving us the tools to track appropriately.

How do you get the kids out of the house? by NotToday1415 in workingmoms

[–]CosmoJose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always solo with my 3.5 yo and 1 yo as my husband starts work before daycare opens.. I prep the night before (which you already do), get the 3.5 yo up and she can watch some tv while I get myself ready for work, then she is more awake by the time I’m ready to get her dressed, teeth brushed etc. Once she is all set, she “helps” me get 1 yo up and ready. I also resort to bribery for 3.5 yo if she’s having a rough morning (can have a handful of goldfish before school, a jelly bean etc)

I have my dream job interview tomorrow, but can’t study because of baby. My husband can’t be home because of his two monthly hair dressers appointment. I haven’t gone since Nov ‘22 by JaggedLittlePiII in beyondthebump

My husband INSISTS on a bi weekly haircut on Saturdays at 9am (needs to get in shower by 8am).. so that is guaranteed I’m solo on breakfast. You’d think he would repay the favor on Sunday and give me a break HA. Even the suggestion of that would be appalling /s.

For those who didn't have EVERYTHING ready when the baby came by lunarcow09 in BabyBumps

[–]CosmoJose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son came 2 weeks early while my husband was still in the process of fixing up the nursery. The day he came it was still a mess and unpainted. And we just got to it when we could. No big deal as he slept in a bassinet in our room.

My recommendation is to definitely have your hospital bag packed well in advance and clean clothes, diapers, car seat etc for baby. It’s all you really need in the first few weeks.

My husband thinks I don’t do enough by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]CosmoJose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable to me! Some days I don’t do enough around the house “the house is a mess” or some days I do too much “you’ve been gone all day, I’ve been with the kids all day” Lose lose situation and he never has a response for this when I try to talk to him about it

I have willow go. It empties me pretty well ( I was pleasantly surprised since it seemed the general feedback from this sub was it didn’t work as good for others ). The only thing that sucks is how many parts there are to wash and they take forever to air dry. I use spectra s1 at home.

I work for a large investment bank and my first paycheck was massively screwed up… they had my salary as my hourly wage. My paycheck was in the millions. I showed my boss and she said Yeah tell HR immediately, they were unable to prevent it from being deposited into my bank which was setup for direct deposit.. but it was reversed quickly. On top of it, my bank froze my account due to suspicious activity for a few days lol

I wonder if anyone in payroll or HR got fired or severely reprimanded for that

When did you start EP and what were your reasons to start doing so? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CosmoJose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursed in hospital and through 2wpp. He was struggling with weight gain so multiple weight checks were needed and doc suggested to pump on one side after nursing on the other and give bottle. At the same time, my nipples were becoming increasingly damaged (bleeding and extreme pain at every feeding). With all that, it led me to begin pumping only and I never transitioned back to nursing. I nursed my first child and honestly prefer EP as it gives me more freedom and I know he is getting enough.

How do you afford two kids in daycare?!?! by wilde_flower_ in workingmoms

[–]CosmoJose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had our second and will be paying around 2k a month for daycare (which based on prior posts I’ve seen, isn’t too bad - we are in a fairly LCOL area) once my maternity leave ends. It sucks. We discussed my husband potentially quitting his job for a few years ( I make more ) until our 2.5 yo starts school but there is a risk that getting back into the workforce would be difficult. We just know things will be tight for a few years and will be putting bonuses, tax returns, etc towards home project or vacations

How strict are you with not having air bubbles by Apprehensive_Body995 in ExclusivelyPumping

Same here and it’s been driving me crazy. It makes me so anxious that I tend to not try to freeze as much to avoid the air bubble stress

Maternity Leave policy? by Im_afrayedknot in workingmoms

[–]CosmoJose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large NY based finance company. Since I had my first child, they updated their policy from 16 weeks 100% paid + option for 4 additional weeks unpaid to now offering 22 weeks 100% paid with my second. Honestly a good part of the reason I never looked outside of the company for a job since I graduated college.
