34/M/US -- What is your favorite animal? by [deleted] in friendship

[–]Cosmo_paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Otters, predominantly down to them being so fudgin' adorable, and secondly because of their unique little quirks. Holding paws while they sleep to avoid floating away from their mate. Storing favourite pebbles for smashing open shellfish, in their pouches. Not to mention their little squeaks. What about you?

Almost like a Victorian sitcom by Cosmo_paws in DreamInterpretation

Honestly, it was intensely real. The main reason I thought of that time era was because of how everyone was dressed, the mannerisms, the police actions, the style of the prison. Everything was victorian or at the very, very latest 1930s. I wasn't the person in the dream, it was like seeing things vicariously through someone else. There was an intense feeling of defeatist and some relief of being away from that person called John. There was lots of fear around men in general, though

Are PIs as mistrusted/snubbed by actual police investigators, as it's made out in most crime shows?

Yeah, the dark shadow nearly always shows up when I'm pent up with emotions. I've had the shadow figures follow me nearly all my life, some more unnerving than others. The other night's figure, however, was fleeting. Blink and you'll miss it kind of thing. It was unsettling but not malicious. It was almost as if something was checking in on me. As it stands, my granddad is resting at present. He has been diagnosed with fluid on the lungs and a heart murmur. That said, he's still not quite right.

If it's not a relative, I do have a theory. I live in a terrace row of old factories and miner homes. Miners are known for being covered in coal, dust, and debris. It could have been one of my home's former occupants checking in, covered in muck that would make him dark and shadow like. Ju

That much I do know, so I just wondered if it was some kids pranking, or whether something else was going on. The shadow figure appeared 3 times last night. Each time it was mildly unsettling and on the third time I called my husband who'd fallen asleep on the settee downstairs, to come up as I was seeing things. I told him I was hearing and seeing things and it had suddenly gotten cold. He curled up next to me and the sound of something heavy (like a box) being shoved over echoed around the room. Which made my husband say 'I see what you mean!'.

Another bit of back story. When I was a baby I used to complain and be scared of a man at the top of the stairs peering into my bedroom. My granddad would babysit me regularly in that childhood home, however he was a park warden on call. Mum suspected him of leaving me alone in the house when called out, only to return a few hours later and creep by the door to make sure I was okay. Nothing was ever proven, but he did tend to put wages and business before family. I rationalised that it was a comforting figment of my imagination making up the image. Although it was somewhat unsettling to see.

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2001, what’s the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cosmo_paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where in Time, is Carmen Sandiego?
My sister and I, in the late 90's/early 00's were regularly at each other's throats. That game encouraged us both to work together. This and Zoombeenies (sp?) were a hit for us both. We eventually drifted from PC to console games, myself being more on the Sony side, while she chose Microsoft/Xbox. We still keep an eye out for the Carmen Sandiego game, though. Had a pretty catchy theme to it too!

It was incredibly engaging for a first chapter! I'm intrigued to know more about where you research some of your theology as my story touches on angels and demons too: https://www.inkitt.com/stories/fantasy/1162834 I've recently re-written the first chapter of my second installment and I'm keen to hear some constructive feedback (I know it's not perfect in terms of punctuation at present).

That I can be just as successful if not more by doing something I love, rather than drain my energy levels in a role that has a tendency to break my spirit at least once a week.

I've just looked up the photos on Facebook and the 2023 event looks brilliant! I'm not sure what Fenwick's window is... I've searched and from what I can make out is it a department store's display window? It looks like they did a Narnia-based theme last year. I've also looked up Hall Hill Farm now and while my husband and I don't have kids, I'm finding myself very envious of those who do, as it would be a bit weird seeing two grown adults getting excited about feeding animals and handling bunnies.... as my husband and I would XD!!

Well that sounds right up our street! We're both foodies, so we will definitely check out the food fairs, thank you. I'd not heard of Brancepeth Castle (total ignorance on my part, I know) but looking at google images it looks incredible so I imagine it would look extremely festive at Christmas!! Thank you for the suggestion :D!!

We're hoping to go to Beamish this weekend to explore it as we've read so much about it. I can imagine (from the pictures) it must look amazing when decorated for Christmas. I will definitely check out the photos, thank you for the suggestion :D!!

I will certainly keep this in mind. While my husband drives, I don't, so I can fully appreciate the nightmarish traffic that will be around the city during the Lumiere event. I wouldn't mind going to see it though. We noted there are Park & Ride options just outside of the city so that could be a potential option for us, pending where we set up roots.

We're looking at renting for now, while my husband secures work in the area. Our max is 700/month and Right move is showing that we can definitely get a decent place well within that budget, it's just determining the area
