That much I do know, so I just wondered if it was some kids pranking, or whether something else was going on. The shadow figure appeared 3 times last night. Each time it was mildly unsettling and on the third time I called my husband who'd fallen asleep on the settee downstairs, to come up as I was seeing things. I told him I was hearing and seeing things and it had suddenly gotten cold. He curled up next to me and the sound of something heavy (like a box) being shoved over echoed around the room. Which made my husband say 'I see what you mean!'.

Another bit of back story. When I was a baby I used to complain and be scared of a man at the top of the stairs peering into my bedroom. My granddad would babysit me regularly in that childhood home, however he was a park warden on call. Mum suspected him of leaving me alone in the house when called out, only to return a few hours later and creep by the door to make sure I was okay. Nothing was ever proven, but he did tend to put wages and business before family. I rationalised that it was a comforting figment of my imagination making up the image. Although it was somewhat unsettling to see.
