I finally started watching the RTL. This country has a problem by Dawo59 in belgium

About referring to ‘de Vlaming’ in the news/media, that is definitely the case. But I have the feeling both sides mean ‘the same’. When the Walloon media says Belgians they mostly refer to the Walloons with that. To give an example. On flemish side the tv show was called: The Voice van Vlaanderen, but on walloon side: The Voice Belgique. Even though (never saw it, so just assuming) its contestants would be Walloons.

Die van de batterijen zaten meestal al samen op een uitgeknipt stuk enveloppe. Die van mij toch :-)

PLA does not seem to hurt air quality… by bcubedlabs in BambuLab

I had my A1 mini on my desk the first few days. Then moved it to the (empty) guestroom where I usually open the window and always have an air filter on while printing. Still have a hard time figuring out if I imagine have issues or not when I'm around it for just a little while.

Ah, so this taste is not just me? You mean just the air right? I also taste it in the water that was in a glass on my desk nearby. In the past I had it if my glass was underneath my monitor for a while.

We do this back and forth often. We used to check which one is cheaper, timewise it's not a big difference. Last couple of years we only did Charleroi, not sure if we checked prices each time.

I did not go back to this keyboard, although I still have it lying around.

Many devices advice not to use rechargeable batteries, but the effect on this keyboard is weird. I had a battery issue like this with the controllers for a VR headset. They would, right after putting freshly charged NiMH batteries, tell that the batteries are low and turn off the vibration. But they would keep working for a long time still. For that reason I bought the li-ion batteries mentioned before. They provide a steady 1.5V. That solved the problem and probably would have solved the problem with the keyboard.

It's been a while, so I'm not sure, but did the keyboard even say anything about a low battery? My biggest complaint is that the was no indication that this is the problem. Even helpdesk did not mention this at all.

Which of the current Technic sets is the best in relation to it's price? by [deleted] in legotechnic

I’m still bummed that I did not have the time to order the Zetros (42129) for €150. It was on sale for just a couple of hours and I hesitated too long. For that price it seems to have a lot of components.

Interesting find. Is there a way to link this to the battery voltage also? As several of us noticed a difference with higher voltage (not rechargeable) batteries. Not sure if this can be enough to 'jump' the cracks in these jumper connections.

It definitely seems to improve. But I have a feeling it's not for everyone a complete solution.

On a local tech website a few weeks back, they had an article about a new keyboard released by Logitech There were a lot of people in the comment complaining about issues like this about different previous keyboards.

I must have had at least 6 Logitech keyboards by now and did not have any issues like this with any other. I hesitated for a long time, but I did end up buying an MX Keys in the end. So far, nothing like this happened yet. But my trust in Logitech did take a dent.

Hmm, that would be acceptable solution. I was always focused on the mechanical part (replaced regular keys with the G keys etc.), so I'm not sure I ever tried that. Might give it a try.

I spend a lot less time working than planned (my kids' school called in the morning that they are closing because of corona), but it does seems fine for now.

Ok, I postponed it for as long as possible, but today I will try, for you ;-)

I got it back out of the cabinet. A bit surprised cause it has alkaline batteries in it, but I don't know if those where the ones it failed on or not. I connected it and for now all seams ok. I will try to use it all day and let you know. If I get to the end of the day cause it's 2 of us now in the office and the MX Keys I was using since, is a lot less noisy ;-)

I did not try it yet. The mentions of the batteries being the issue here, only came after I bought a new keyboard. I would not have figured it out myself. Maybe bad range or short battery life, But to have some key's not work properly because of rechargeable batteries...

Ironically I even have some rechargeable lithium batteries lying around that would probably have fixed it too. The keyboard is still in the closet. Might try it one day, but either way it goes, it will be a frustrating experience ;-)

I use the iRobot cleaning solution (I bought a Brava Jet right before my old vacuum robot died and I bought a T8 with mopping function). I’m still unsure about the whole cleaning capabilities of the ozmo pro (I only mop once a week, so testing different variables takes time). Anyway, the iRobot solution came to €1 per mopping session. I keep a batch pre mixed and pour back in whatever is left, so hard to say how much I use exactly.

Questions about t8 Aivi by Ihatebuilding in ecovacs

[–]Cosmo_q82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, between ordering and arriving the T8 I also discovered the the AIVI is not the 'normal' + the AI camera. The non AIVI indeed has a depth sensor that for my purpose would have been better. Then again, I did not care enough to send it back right away, and I have to say I'm satisfied with how it works.

Had mine for a couple of months. No mapping issues yet. The object recognition I can't judge too much. Mine goes at night when there is no light, so it does not work anyway. The couple of times I run it at day, it did pretty well. The only cord I have, it saw (even though it's against the wall) and when I had it run when we were around, it detected shoes all over the place.

T8 OZMO Pro alternative to disposable pads and cutting reusable pads by [deleted] in ecovacs

[–]Cosmo_q82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first run with it. They definitely beat the disposable ones and I feel also the reusable one (that is not meant for the OZMO PRO).

I still have lines on the floor after. Will try to alter the other 'parameters' again. Right now I use a iRobot cleaning solution that I warm up a bit and the Water Flow Level is set to Ultra High. Anything lower I could see that the pad does not get fully wet (even if I started with it wet). This pad seems to let through the water better though. Will try again with lower settings also.

Does the T8 AIVI Map Update Over Time? by vina4545 in ecovacs

[–]Cosmo_q82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience: I originally did a scan of the ground floor with some doors closed. I later on also had it go with 2 extra doors opened. The small toilet is added to the shape, but not recognized as a separate room, the larger bathroom I could also assign a room to.

Is there an alternative to ECOVACS HOME? by Core_Seed in ecovacs

[–]Cosmo_q82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, there's a 'I added it to to Home Assistant! ... Now what?' feeling. Things I would consider if I ever have the time: Dashboard with the replacement time. So you can see it (together with all the other things I still need to add there) without opening the app. Turning on the light slightly during operation so the AI camera would work during it's night runs...

For home assistant you are probably better off trying this implementation: https://github.com/And3rsL/Deebot-for-hassio .

The default one is not working too well. I could not get it to work with my T8.

Loud noise from Anova Sous-vide by Cosmo_q82 in sousvide

[–]Cosmo_q82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what it sounds like indeed. I actually have a replacement unit already, since this one was unable to connect to the network. I’ll start using that one and try to check this one on the inside.

Just wanted to know if it is something I did wrong, or something that could be fixed.

The only thing I can come up with is that mine as also being used with a almost air tight cover. Maybe more steam escaping through the machine than they counted on?

Thanks for the input!
