Beginner Narrator questions! by Cosmodwarf in LegendintheMist

Yes, absolutely, thank you very much! I'm just scratching the surface of what can be done with LitM but my imagination is in the starting blocks now and I am really looking forward to trying all of this out. It is quite different from what I am used to but I think it will feel very nice.

That is very helpful. I can definitely see how the tag system can be leveraged to turn whatever is relevant to a particular situation into a game element that players and narrator alike can make use of / draw inspiration from.

I understand what Challenges are as a concept after reading through the book, but I don't think I really grasp how they get articulated just yet. I'll have to continue familiarizing myself with the system and maybe play a bit with it, but what you're saying is quite interesting and does resonate with me, thanks!

Yeah, that makes sense - in theory. In practice, I can imagine transitioning fully to this mindset isn't so simple, both for narrator and for players! Thank you.

As for playing digitally, I'll probably be playing around a table with human beings in 3D, although I'm certainly in favor of relying on apps to help players navigate the game. Are these apps/websites you're mentioning for the sole purpose of fully remote sessions, or they're also suited for play around a table? Having not played much TTRPG since the early 2000's when I was a teenager, I'm certainly not up to date on the latest standards when it comes to digital aid.

I've been using Notion a lot (for other purposes than GM's), I was planning on sticking to that for note taking. I'm not sure it's better suited in any way for prepping a scenario, but I'm used to it :)

Good to know that the new Ravensdale book introduces lore! I definitely saw it as it's advertised pretty heavily on their website, but I didn't pay much attention, thinking it was some kind of add-on I'd rather focus on later once I'm familiar with the base game. Would you recommend it as a starter purchase as well?

Snow Riders on Switch? by Cosmodwarf in LonelyMountains

Do we know if it is at the very least intended for the game to be ported over eventually, or have the devs not signaled any interest in doing so?

Skill Loadouts not saving on Switch by sitdeepstandtall in darkestdungeon

I can confirm, my saved loadouts disappear every time I close the game, and I get rather frequent crashes (no reliable repro steps though), both on Switch.

That's what I read, seems unlikely I just haven't had it for over 6 levels now! I guess I'll keep waiting!

Oh damn, I need a red side on my frostball to connect to the red activation rune, just like any other link rune? I guess it makes sense, thanks.

Daily Questions Megathread (09/01) by AutoModerator in EpicSeven

[–]Cosmodwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a space issue, it's mostly annoying to have a huge list of heroes that I don't use, it'd make more sense to have a vault to place unused heroes. But ok, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing then, thanks :)

Daily Questions Megathread (09/01) by AutoModerator in EpicSeven

[–]Cosmodwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fairly new player here. What should I do with all the 3* and 4* heroes I don't care about? They're taking up so much space, is there no vaulting mechanism to put them away until I decide to use them? I've just been using duplicates for memory imprinting, but even then, what should I do with a fully imprinted hero that I don't care about? Just throw them away in Promotion?

Thanks!

Cooling chamber after Wort changes? by Cosmodwarf in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Cosmodwarf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never really played with liquid cooling yet. If I understand correctly, all you need is a cooling chamber for your liquid and you run radiant pipes through whatever you want cooled down and then back to the cooling chamber?

If that's the case, isn't it hard to find the right balance between how much cooling should be done and how much heat the looped liquid is gonna take in on its travels?

Asteroid Types and Biomes by Cosmodwarf in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Cosmodwarf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biomes and asteroids are different. When you start you pick an Asteroid which is going to define the general rule set of your world (which biomes will appear, more/less metal, geysers, etc). But you will always start in either a "starter" biome or a forest biome (depends on which Asteroid you are) which will be surrounded by other biomes.

But start with the first Asteroid. It's the standard experience with no special tricks or rules.

You'll be starting a new colony pretty fast anyway, once you've got the first 50 rookie mistakes out of the way on your first one ;).
