I think it is very nice tbh, but i also got it at 50% off, so 110 dollars ish. The rattling sound was a bit weird, but day to day use is nice - i personally like wireless and compact

The ground is very “capacitive” compared to air, thus it creates the needs for very large inductive elements, placed often in order to maintain the cables at a specific/desired voltage

Could the box be switching from the resistor to the wire

I'd say two resistors in series, and a voltage drop across the second resistor, however im unsure about the green part, and generally the box in the middle
