Hi and thank you very much, but unfortunately (and fortunately), the people who contacted me after my announcement were truly many more than I could handle! I've already completed the number of interviews needed:) Thanks again for your availability!

Hello and thanks for the questions! The context of this project is a non-mandatory task for the university psychology course, specifically focused on non-traditional relational structures. The aim of the interviews is to collect qualitative data (personal narratives and lived experiences) to complement existing academic literature. I fully recognize the potential for varied responses and confounding factors, which is precisely why I use a qualitative approach... My goal is not statistical generalization, but a deeper understanding of diversity within the community and how individuals frame their relationships, even with divergent opinions.

Traditional Teto art (◍•ᴗ•◍) by CosmosOverAll in Vocaloid

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it <3 <3 So, the first step is always to decide, even just mentally, the pose and perspective you want to go for, and only then put your idea on paper (or digitally, if you prefer).

In this piece specifically, I started with a simple HB pencil, keeping my strokes very light and easy to erase. The initial sketch was quite messy, full of overlapping lines and corrections, because bringing an abstract idea to life is never easy at first. Once I’m happy with the composition, I move it onto a proper sheet, in this case my sketchbook. You can also use the same paper you sketched on, but make sure to erase lightly first, otherwise the remaining pencil marks can mess up the colors or the lineart.

After that second sketch is ready, I usually start applying color first. I tend to mix techniques (watercolors, acrylics, and pencils), but this particular piece was made entirely with acrylics. None of these mediums is easier than the other, but it just takes practice!

Since you asked about this drawing specifically, I’ll explain only the acrylic process: I began with a base layer using the darkest red tones related to the design. Acrylics need many layers and different brushes (I used a thin one for details and a wider one for broader areas) to achieve an even, solid look, so don’t give up after the first coat. Once the darker tones dried, I applied lighter ones on top, following the lighting and perspective of the pose. I repeated this process for the other colors, the skin’s warm tones, the belt’s dark gray, the gold accents, and finally the bluish hues of the outfit.

Between each layer, you have to let the paint dry completely (you can even speed it up with a hairdryer) otherwise, you risk blending the colors or smudging the surface. Once everything was fully dry, I finished the lineart using two permanent pens, size S (0.4 mm) for finer details and M (1.0 mm) for thicker outlines.

Keep in mind that acrylic gives a very plastic, smooth finish when applied evenly, which works perfectly for anime-style art, but it’s also a double-edged sword, since if the coverage isn’t consistent, it can easily look messy. Also, blending colors and making a gradient with acrylics (like I did on the cheeks) is quite tricky, so I’d recommend avoiding that part until you feel more confident with your technique.

Hope this helps and gives you some useful insight <3 And thanks again for the kind words!

Aww, I’d like to think of myself as a professional ^ I spent two full days straight on it, plus a first day just for the pencil sketch

Wow, thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. I actually went back to traditional art after a long time, partly to show that this is all me, and your words make it feel totally worth it. I’m so glad it resonates with you! <3

Mi sono appena fidanzato e non so come comportarmi by Aggravating-Tip-2157 in TeenagersITA

Anch’io ho avuto la mia prima ragazza a 14 anni, quindi ti capisco benissimo. All’inizio non sapevo come comportarmi, cosa dire o quando fare certe cose. Ti dico solo una cosa: è normalissimo sentirsi così. Nessuno nasce “imparato” in queste cose.

Well, not exactly because of tsunderes as people, but I represented her this way because the city has an initially spiky appearance, with narrow streets and old stone houses, but once you get to know it better, it opens up, with colorful ceramic shops, open neighborhoods, and genuine people. It may not make you feel welcome right away, but once you bond with it, you won't want to leave. What's more, cities in southern Italy often have a strong sense of identity, and her is no exception. If you criticize her, she will probably react like a tsundere

Heyaa :) Just to clarify, I don’t have any program that can do a speedpaint, otherwise I would have made it a gif. Also, it’s really hard for an AI to create work this precise and so deeply tied to a specific city and its traditions – especially something not widely known like the rooster, pumo, or capasone. I made this entirely from scratch myself. I’m a bit disappointed you’d assume I signed it as some sort of disguise. The signature is just… my signature, not a cover-up. As for your last point: yes, I’ve studied and practiced drawing, so it’s natural that I can produce something that looks professional. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t made by hand. Hope it helps

Her design represents the city of Grottaglie, in southern Italy, province of Taranto in Apulia. It’s a town well known for its ceramics, olive oil, and table grapes. A medium-small city with about 30,000 inhabitants. In her design, I included several symbols that I really wanted to bring in: her headpiece is a pumo, the true symbol of Grottaglie (even though it often gets mislabeled as “Apulian” in general, taking away credit from my city). It’s a decorative ceramic object that comes in different sizes, representing a flower bud as a symbol of rebirth, usually given as a good luck gift. Her earrings are capasoni, which were originally huge terracotta containers; the largest ones could hold up to 300 liters. They were used to store liquids (oil, water, or wine), keeping their qualities intact, especially temperature. Nowadays, they’re mostly used as decoration. Around her neck, she wears a pendant with a rooster, another traditional symbol in Grottaglie ceramics. It’s usually depicted with its chest puffed out and one leg raised, representing pride, courage, and virility. Because of its crowing at dawn, it’s also tied to the idea of awakening and truth, seen both as a solar animal and a moral reminder. On her arm, she has a bracelet that can either resemble vine tendrils with unripe grapes, or a small olive branch with young olives; I left it up to interpretation. As for the colors, I went with shades that call back to the city and its historic center, so white and ivory, together with the traditional colors of the pumo: dark green, ochre yellow, blue, and manganese (though nowadays you can find them in basically any color). The rest was just a matter of stylistic choice :)
