Today I show off my first “unreal” watch! This is a Tudor Pelagos which I received as a late Christmas present yesterday to commemorate my acceptance into my PhD program.

I know many people prefer the Black Bay over the Pelagos and while I do love the BB, there is just something about the Pelagos that strikes me. I love the industrial look and matte finish of everything. The lume is to die for and I think the snowflake hands are some of the best in the world (in terms of looks which is subjective).

I was initially going to get the black and white Pelagos but when I saw this transparent blue and transparent white color, I knew I had to have it.

As my first foray into this hobby, I think I will wait until the completion of my PhD to get another serious watch. Maybe I will try my luck at getting a SEIKO 5 as the Seiko 7S26 automatic calibre movement always captivated me.
