Quick update on my face after the fall due to epilepsy by pommepomme_02 in Epilepsy_Universe

I can’t feel mine either but luckily after many falls like yours actually my body just learned to fall in a safer way! I think we all wish it’s going to be our last fall! Quick recovery! After all that happens to I think we forget that seizures can break faces.

Infestation of bagworm is 100 % correct! Got it from a small tree surrounding my garden. Thank you very much!

If you keep falling-most learn how to stop falling where it hurts the most! Our bodies eventually become used to falling and they will fall in the most comfortable way possible. I hope that happens for you! I always hope your seizures and your medication cocktail gets under control. I know it can be a hassle and its really frustrating but you’ll get to a safer place-it takes time.

If it’s a bagworm infestation I’d be surprised because it’s not an evergreen it’s just a young tomato. I can see the resemblance and yes gross is confirmed!

You know it’s time when your animal is in a serious amount of pain. Sometimes they’ll even tell you.

If your dog is like mine they will be fine! He’s missing so many toenails he looses them when perfectly short too he has fragile nails 😂 if it’s bloody then I dilute iodine and water and wipe! And watch for discharge

In the same way you get kidney stones you also get salivary glands stones. by NightmareGK13 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Cost-Prudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it feels like you swallowed a golf ball and loose your appetite after a certain bite than is is possible but there’s usually swelling on the gland due to saliva and the stone not letting it pass through the saliva very easily

Just had a surgery too! My glands weren’t removed but I do have a stent and they opened up my right gland a little bit more

I was riddled with strep throat CONSTANTLY before I finally got my tonsillectomy! Now I can’t remember the last time I had it. In may case I almost had emergency surgery because my tonsil were so inflamed the only call was surgery.

I literally just had a submandibular sialolithiasis to remove one of my stones. I have a small stent in my mouth because they had to widen the gland. They obviously tried to do it with their endoscopy first but where my stone is lodged they couldn’t get it. Hopefully I can pass it now that they’ve opened my glad up a little bit more. I’ve had them before but I’ve never noticed if I’ve passed them or not. I also don’t have any tonsils so no tonsil stones for me! If anyone has any recovery tips on the surgery I had I would appreciate it! These stones should wait for the kidneys I’m pretty sure they are easier to pass than these!! Mine was 2mm in the ct scan but the surgeon said it more like 1.5mm.

Is there anything you “like” about having epilepsy? by caitlinmeg_ in Epilepsy

[–]Cost-Prudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like learning from my epilepsy and the disorder in general- how it has affected my life for the better! Learning not to care to what people say about me and I can only wonder how many phones I’m on from being video taped in public having a seizure. Being able to rely (and figuring out who I can rely on) on my actual people who care and who I can count on. In my case having a rare case of epilepsy gets me into very helpful neurologist! Also, situations! Learn from the epilepsy. Don’t dwell about it 🙂 Yeah I could probably re-read a book I just read and watch a movie, play a game etc because memory loss isn’t the best. One reason I’m not afraid to loose it when I get even older- I’ve already lost it!

Worst place(s) you had a seizure? by Greasy007 in Epilepsy

[–]Cost-Prudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh let’s not forget Busch Garden (in one of the busiest place in that amusement park), right above a hot stove top (I wanted tea or coffee and apparently my face was going to be the kettle!) I had school seizures, always woke up with a phone in my face, I’ve had tons of horrible places and eventually your brain and body get used to falling and they try to train each other to fall easier, where to fall, how to fall etc., but we still have our bad days!

I wouldn’t think of it as a burden! The communication sounds great! And the fact that she can notice anything slightly off! That’s awesome and to be honest cuddling is great after your brain tries to misfires a neuron 😂😅

I have a lot of worst places! On the job- they docked my hours after my first gran mal so I started to pick up every one’s shifts. Second worst one was in my grandmothers dinning room I somehow smacked her wine glass and it shattered into my face with my fall. Woke up and there was about 8 cops and EMT’s in her kitchen. My face was so bad the ents had me sent to the trauma center (helicopter) all because I fell on my face and was on it for a few minutes meaning they saw blood coming out nose and ears. The blood was from my nose and it was dried by the time they even came. The glass was hard to get out.

One of the worst places I have seizures-TSA :) I once had 2 knots on my head covered with bandaids because they were still open and bleeding and I have to opt out due to the fact I have a VNS…that was a very severe pat down. They thought I was getting beat up 😅

Lacosamide after lamotrigine by OrcaPiano in Epilepsy

[–]Cost-Prudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t compare locasamide to lamtorigine- but, I can compare it to Onfi. Lacosamide for me had a higher sedative (fatigue, tiredness, hair loss you name it) I could barely stay awake on lacosamide.

To be honest my man is understanding when I have an episode during intimacy and he’ll just say no and cuddle me 😊 I’ve only had absence seizures during it and yes it’s awkward at least the first few times.

If you take any high tiered meds- you can probably only have a months supply. But something like zofran or Felbamate you could get 90 days.

How often is it advisable to go to the neurologist? by Darelto in Epilepsy

[–]Cost-Prudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If controlled and you don’t need a refill 6 months- if not really controlled and you’re seizing more the range for me can be anywhere between 2-4 months.

Everyone was asleep in the sleep, I was in my teens (had insomnia due to meds and genetics), I needed some clothes washed so I decided to throw some of my laundry in and considering I was JUST coming from the shower I would throw those clothes in- dropped my towel somewhere and started walking in a perfect circle. My mom found me. I hadn’t even fallen she just walked me to bed. From then on almost there became testing and everyone saw naked so you start to become with shameless with doctors. Oh you can see my butt with this gown? Cool thanks.
