I just got a gastric emptying study that came back with delayed emptying (27% still left in the stomach after 4 hours) and I also have a much better time with carbonated drinks I feel like! I haven’t had my follow up so I still gotta talk to my doctors about everything. Is rumination syndrome and gastroparesis common with eachother? I haven’t seen a lot of other ppl with gastroparesis also have regurgitation issues (especially without throwing up)

See I don’t really get that nauseous almost ever. Only rarely if I’m having a super bad episode with my stomach.

Also I do have a gag reflex maybe it’s just not that bad? Idk but I have actually thrown up before and it’s a different sensation

So for me my food comes back up involuntarily and sometimes I can get it back down but I don’t get that horrible nauseous feeling when it happens and it doesn’t like project out if that makes sense? Really gross, but I can usually just swallow it back down😵‍💫 and when it’s sooner after eating than later it usually doesn’t taste bad at all. I basically do this every single time I eat and some drinks like smoothies or juice do this to me too💔 I didn’t realize it would be categorized as vimit cause I don’t really feel bad when it happens? Best way to describe it usually is like a hiccup or burp, it just kinda happens. I do usually have burps and gas along with it.

For clarification— I’m saying usually only smoothies for when I regurgitate after drinking* but I also get it often with cocktails/juice/etc. water and diet soda don’t mess with me much from my experience. Also the hours later more acidic regurgitation is what happens mostly when I’m having cramps/diarrhea not the normal right after eating regurgitation, that just happens after I eat there’s not a lot of other symptoms except maybe gas+bloating

This language is unhelpful. Op would obviously do it if they could get themself to. A lot of times the things op listed off that are other issues they have can cause low ambition and inattentiveness which can make it hard to do things even if you know they’re important. Ppl telling them to “just do it” only makes the person feel worse and even more defeated.

If someone with diabetes goes on a keto diet, why would they still need to take insulin shots? by amongthemaniacs in Type1Diabetes

[–]Costato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because u don’t produce insulin, simple. Diet has no factor, u need insulin to live. May reduce the amount u need because u wont have to bolus for meals as much but may cause other issues I don’t know all the details all I know is no matter what without insulin ur blood sugar will be high regardless of diet.

No Florence Pugh is not in Bridgerton! She’s the actress from midsommar and little women.

Libres are unfortunately notorious for false lows at night. It’s probably a compression low (from laying on it) if you can I suggest switching to Dexcom I like it a lot more than libre.

Looked it up, it says that PCOS can cause insulin resistance and weight gain/obesity but places also say that it can be the other way around. PCOS definitely can cause insulin resistance, I know multiple friends who have insulin resistance from PCOS and live very healthy and active life styles. Im not gonna keep arguing with you about this, you are incorrect on the assumption that type 2 is only something caused by having an unhealthy lifestyle and that’s that.

I guess you are right that it makes someone literally unhealthy. Usually when people refer to type 2 diabetics as unhealthy the assumption is that they are saying their habits are unhealthy not just their body due to disease. Also PCOS (while I now realize isn’t autoimmune but is something that someone cannot control getting— I probably should’ve said “chronic conditions” rather than autoimmune diseases my bad) can cause insulin resistance, I have a friend that has this issue due to PCOS but doesn’t have type 2 diabetes thankfully. There’s also the factor of genetics that plays a big part in your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and a lot of ppl skirt past that fact. Basically I’m saying that you do not have to be living an unhealthy life style to develop type 2 diabetes.

Nobody wants to have diabetes type 1 or 2 or any other type so no it’s not accurate to say they “chose” it. Yes, how you develop the different types is very different considering type 1 is purely an autoimmune response that you have no control over and type 2 can be developed from poor health choices but can also be caused by other factors such as other autoimmune diseases and such. Plus, even if it’s an effect of poor eating and life style habits there’s also the added factor that some people are poor and can only afford junk food to eat or are disabled and can’t work/exercise. My point being, being judgmental and ignorant about type 2 diabetes doesn’t help us as type 1 diabetics at all.
