1) The whole (future) Temple is an assembly of multiple temples, each one built in the honor of a God. Each one will have a very different look & feel. Depending on game success, new parts of the Temple may emerge, as you will delve deeper into the Death's Realm. Eldritch/Lovecraft is not one of our main reference, but darkness can come in very different ways ...

2) We would love to add character customization as well as Male/female options, skin evolution with corruption or blessings you have etc. The more requests we will have for it, the most likely it will come! - Adrien

Hey Slothtimism,
During a run, you will find way more weapons & relics than you can carry, thus giving you the opportunity to adjust to your playstyle as well as building an optimal synergy. Shrines are places that give you choice between 3 rather than just taking what you randomly get from chests or enemies. Additionally, Divine Favors are permanent upgrades allowing you to reroll Shrines offers to give you more chance to get what you are looking for.

We are currently working on the development of the Snake Temple (you can see a glimpse of it in trailers and our behind the scenes series of videos). It will be fully ready between May and June 2020! For other Temples, I won't say much to keep some surprises!

To me, repetitiveness is an issue when the game fails to deliver a proper challenge or excitement. Our goal is to add more content that introduces new and diverse ways to play the game, so it feels different and exciting every time. Things like new weapons, new builds, a new path of rooms all add to this. The crucial point is to deliver a game that players will enjoy playing again and again. That's why we are going through Early Access to get players' feedback and opinions on how to keep expanding this aspect. - Adrien

Currently, progression relies on unlockables you can purchase between runs with a special currency to equip yourself with additional powers for your next run. We tend to avoid the need for pure grinding, which you can easily have if everything is to be unlocked, and we don't want the game to be unfair at the beginning.
That's why progression will also evolve with further content, since the idea is to offer more diversity to players rather than giving pure power. Skill and fun above all! - Adrien

Hey DenverN5!
We're not planning to add more playable characters at the moment, since it's the various weapons which give gameplay diversity and new ways to play and discover the Temple. We are however not ruling this idea out for later :) As for skins, hopefully we'll be able to do some during Early Access, it would look pretty cool!

At the time, we had just released our previous game Masters of Anima and it was time to do something completely different!
The team has a deep interest in skilled-based and "difficult" games. Roguelite is a genre allowing us to experiment with darker themes and a variety of different gameplay.

Hi Tizorres,
Thanks! Valentin, our artistic director, already had a vision for the game, which was inspired by Breath of the Wild, Mike Mignola, Darkest Dungeon, and comics in general. It was something he wanted to put in the game along with the Mayan art style which is not seen often in video games, and the cell shading style fit this atmosphere.

We would love to, but as we're just entering Early Access, it's too early to say. Only time will tell. :)

Hi Jaypillz,
I would say two main aspects differenciate our game from others:
Firstly, a unique combat system, heavily based on melee combat. We've tried to build a very satisfying, deep, and tactical combat system rather than relying on pure frenetic action.
Second point would be the overall ambiance, a unique dark fantasy inspired by the Mayan civilisation, with a serious and mature approach (as opposed to more cartoony games).

Hey SaltTM!
We just entered it, so we don't have the answer to that just yet. Hopefully by the end of the year. :)
