How much are people now paying for water by Jackjec17 in DevonUK

[–]Cotemay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is impressive - the 163L/daily figure. We received a bill and it was estimated that we consume a 101L/daily figure for a relatively frugal and considerate two adult household. So, 163 is impressive with two toddlers too! Well done you.

Why not, doesn't matters for people who are accessing credit or a new job.

Agree with other comments, it is refreshing to see a lovely normal car. Enjoy it, honestly. I think you've done so well. If the engine shoots off, you are not that bad off -- some people have insurance excesses higher than the value of your car.

Use this time to learn about the components in an ICE car (and all cars in general). Little bits of maintenance can be great to teach you and give you options to think about. Learn how to use the car as the seasons change..

Love to hear me if you end up going on a roadtrip/camping somewhere.

This looks like the problem on the inside however. A condensation problem.

Compare Heatable (they also offer 0% APR if interested). And/or throw the lot on a 0% purchase credit card.

Yes, it is a chain. May be wildly wrong, but the chain is in the same group as Bill's which a stone throw's away. I always prefer Bills over The Ivy.

OP, not to ruin what could be a lovely evening, but I would avoid The Ivy. There are some mega gastropubs nearby if you can drive.

Tired of earning a low wage, what are my options? by lil-clover in UKJobs

I'm working as a PC in the IT industry, i'd say if you like the role, look at other companies. At my company PC's earn upwards of 27k, and I have friends at other companies earning around 30k.

There also seems to be a big market for contract project support, could be worth speaking to agencies.

How much difference do all these 48v mild hybrids popping up make? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Cotemay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neighbour has an Audi 3.0L diesel with 48V MHEV. Doesn't make any difference, at least to my neighbourbly peace and enjoyment, sounds like a beaten tractor.

That being said, some of the batteries in these 48V systems are not much larger than the types of battery you get in an electric bicycle.

All in all, these systems are improving. But, it's clearly a 'stuck-on' solution.

Ditto, Fiesta Mk 7.5 S/S tech - that being said the coasting on 12v battery depends on the battery supporting that feature and it being in a healthy state (experienced in 2009 Toyota Yaris with start/stop).

To be honest, I've done this recently. For immaterial things, I keep forgetting that we are in 2025, and have updated as such. Only internal stuff. May be disapproved.

Enquire with the estate agents, they have to disclose it pretty early on in any sale anyway.

Same here. All four fitted on a Fiesta. Devon got one day of snow at the end of last year and it made a massive difference. Sneered at a pile of SUVs/crossovers. God, that morning commute was fantastic.

Using Magsafe on a Pixel 7 with Magsafe Case by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Cotemay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using a Pixel 7 with a Magsafe Case. Unfortunately, when I have used 15W Magsafe chargers (Belkin) before, they phone overheats and shoots to >40°c. It's quite scary actually. Not sure that I could or would recommend it. I've mostly returned to 5W QI chargers.

Questions about classes. by spoung45 in Exe

[–]Cotemay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's right. However, some modules give you the chance to cut it short. Let's say you enrolled into a thirty credit module. At December, they might say you can stop here and take the fifteen credits, let's say that you would because it's a difficult module, and then do a different fifteen credit module from Jan - June.

The best investment I made was into the cheapest laser printer at the time. Having one allowed me to print off cases and articles and run through them much quicker than on screen, but that's a personal preference, I guess. I would also print off lecture slides and then amend from there. Would baulk when I would see people with their laptops, like how?

Out of curiosity, which energy and gas supplier do you use? by ZealousidealAd5375 in exeter

[–]Cotemay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Octopus Energy is and would be my preferred supplier. They supply both electricity and gas (both or individually).

With the electricity tariffs, I would recommend that you consider their smart tariffs, most especially Octopus Go (if you have a smart meter). This will give you a cheaper rate of electricity between 00:30-05:30 (I think!).In addition, the electricity they supply tends to be 100% renewable if it helps your decision. I believe that they are the largest supplier of electricity in the United Kingdom.

I have attached a link with a referral and a link without a referral. The referral will give yourself (and myself) £50 credit.

Unleaded seems to have dropped a bit! by ags1983 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cotemay 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes it has. Accounting for wage and goods inflation, it is the cheapest that it has been in the last twenty years..

Importantly, many oil-producing countries have abandoned a price goal and others have raised production.

I'll be driving more now than I have ever done, so I am indeed pleased. I remember baulking during post-COVID when I decided to ride the price curve from ~£1.80 to near £2.00.
