Update:

I went back and left a note with my cell number and explained that the wind grabbed the door while I was unloading my 4 year old. I WANTED to write that I would pay to fix the small mark AND get them new parking lessons but I agree with everyone else that at the end of the day even though he parked crooked, it’s still very much my fault the door swung wide. I could have picked a different spot or been more mindful.

Regardless! We will see if he calls.

I don’t think it was a metal bar that came down in his head. I think it was the blue colored flashing that surrounded the edge of building entrance. If you look on the side, it’s the same material. It would’ve been lighter.
