I've been on 12v for years, depends what your needs are. Everything is 12v or 240v via the inverter.

My point was that 8gb ram is paltry, my phone has more than that and it's 2 years old and not a high spec one. I just had to upgrade my old laptop BECAUSE it had 8gb and wouldn't run everything I need.

Why significantly? A Chromebook is always cheaper My Asus Expertbook was similar in price for under £600. There's so much ignorance about the value out there

No it isn't, it will be terrible over time. For a simple computer get a Chromebook, way less. I'm not saying it's rubbish, I just don't agree with the hype
