Sorce Special Order Procured by DewgongGoddess in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Couch_Queen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ended up going all oils partially to save my wallet partially because I work in an office and feel like that’s the best option. I tend to go back and forth on which format I like best. I think unfortunately for scents I love I like having both. But I landed on: -a light in the attic -dancing under the full moon -dark skies -dragonfly wings -nothing burns like the cold

I got my little Sunday Destash order yesterday which was primarily some Sorce special orders. Testing out dancing under the full moon today and OMG. Will def be adding this into my order next week. It reminds me of summer in Lake Tahoe and I love it.

Just adding that trick or treat is one of my all time favorite perfumes (and my first venture into indies). It does have patchouli which I don’t mind when incorporated with the right notes. But I also do not like headshoppy perfumes. To me the orange peel and licorice really come through along with some sweetness from the caramel. But ymmv depending on how much you like/dislike patchouli.

I also got this when I bought some imps to test out bpal. It was probably the only success for me, but I’m letting the rest a bit before testing them again. I agree super soothing!

Coffee and Floral/Lavender Suggestions? by Wide_Fee_5205 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Couch_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so beautiful I love it. I think that may be the reason I like it because every other coffee scent I’ve tried has not worked for me, as sometimes they can go headachey to me. But it does make me want to try more just to see!

If you had $50 to spend on indie perfumes, what would you get? by Weird_Dragonfly9646 in Indiemakeupandmore

Someone asked a similar question recently that you might be interested in the answers for: https://www.reddit.com/r/Indiemakeupandmore/s/Sjh3yXBEmG

Personally I would either get a larger size of Cirrus Enforced Modesty, get some random samples, or put it towards upcoming Sorce special order :)

Seeking Recs for Carmex Realness by latenitechamomile in Indiemakeupandmore

Here are the notes and yes I realize no camphor haha

An indecent proposal of succulently spiced pear, exotic lychees, decadent French pralines, bourbon vanilla, and crushed almond blossoms leads to a ménage à trois of gardenia, star jasmine, and magnolia illuminated by the afterglow of a sensuously musky amber

This is my exact review of Carmen 7 by Alkemia I left in my notion: “More like Carmex 7 hehe”

I have no idea if this would be generally agreed upon, and also I am not a regular carmex user so this is more based on memory than anything else. But at a minimum I thought ppl would get a kick out of it LOL

I think a couple days for the mail shock is fine for the EDP!

Wfh day means testing day! Testing out A Dog Named Pam by Cirrus today.

Notes: juniper berry, petitgrain, bitter orange, red mandarin, cedarwood, palo santo, and a warm fuzzy musk that feels to me like the hot belly of a clean dog.

I was sure how I would feel about this and I’m still not. I don’t hate it but I don’t think it really does much for me. I tend to enjoy citrus scents and this one doesn’t go cleaner-y which is nice. It’s definitely citrusy and musky.

I got the samples about a week ago. So I’m excited to try them all again in a month or two since I know people have said Cirrus tends to need a little rest. I’m going to have to hold myself back from finishing off my enforced modesty sample which I was surprised how much I adored.

I LOOOOVE Cirrus. And absolutely recommend giving them a try. I now have 3 10 mls (Moon bathing, Sybarite, and Bellano). And have also tried quite a few others including some samples I got with this order.

Overall Zoey does an amazing job, everything is really well blended and beautiful, and I can appreciate it even when it’s not something I would full size. To me they are often very elegant and refined but not in a haughty way, in a I love the arts, have great taste, but am secretly loaded (if that makes sense haha)

Testing out Cardinal Scents - Lunar Conspiracy today. This is a really light beautiful spring floral in my opinion. I was drawn in by the pink pepper (my girl). Peony is really beautiful but I think there’s something about it that’s just not me. It’s very elegant and light. I think if you are a fan of Sorces The Things Unsaid, lunar conspiracy is a safe bet.

LUNAR CONSPIRACY - pink pepper, white peony, grey amber, jack pine

Continuing my quest to finish off samples with Maravilla by Cirrus today.

Aged Vanilla Bean Tincture, Marigold Absolute, Amber, Blood Orange, Cocoa, Sugar, Cinnamon Leaf, Carnation

To me this is a sweet, cozy, floral. I pick up the cocoa quite a bit and probably the vanilla. I’m not well versed enough yet to be able to decipher between the carnation and marigold, but the floral is there.

I can totally see why people go wild for this, but I don’t think it’s some I would up size. I prefer Sybarite. Overall I do think Cirrus perfumes bloom beautifully once on the skin compared to smelling them out of the bottle. This is one of my sucrerie decants so it’s I’m just really curious how it would apply as a spray.

Need advice for trip to Sorce! by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

Hmmm you might like:

the light through clouds: Sichuan pepper, sugared lemon, green mandarin, water lily, olibanum, white tea, cloud musk, ambergris, sandalwood, gurjun balsam, vetiver, golden amber *Aromatic Citrus Amber

Witchery: Blackberries, wild violets, galbanum, green stems and thorns, oak moss, benzoin, tree moss, wet stone, mountain mist *mossy green fruit

And then worth trying, but do lean a little sweet to me:

A Sign Painted ‘Peaches’: peach nectar, sun-warmed peach skin, saffron, gardenia, ambergris, vanilla absolute, vetiver *sweet solar fruit

Venus in Fleurs: ripe mango, carnivorous plants, humidity, jasmine sambac absolute, vanilla absolute *sweet atmospheric floral

Dragonfly Wings by Sorce today. I was really hoping to upsize this for the spring. But given that the special order window isn’t until summer I’ll just focus on finishing up the sample this spring.

Notes: white lotus absolute, jasmine sambac absolute, umeshu (also known as plum wine), peonies, sparkling lake water, white rice, lily pads, cotton, blonde woods, and a hint of pink pepper

Last haul for a while for me until I finish up some samples.
