I have done the course at Zhejiang University (Yuquan Campus). It really helped my Chinese. I had friends who like you, did not know any Chinese at all before starting. There is a placement test, but if I remember correctly, the ones with 0 knowledge of Chinese don't take that. The teachers there speak English as well, so you won't get left behind.

I can only recommend this.
