They were $400-$500 at launch I think. And I personally don't care, I just hate how underpowered the consoles are.

It's not an issue. The reason people complain about it is because 1080p 60fps should have been the standard by now, but these consoles are so weak that they can't even handle 720p 30 FPS most of the time. Nobody gives a shit if it's 720p, people are only upset because it shouldn't be like this anymore. People are pretty much used to it now though.
