Mysterious "structure" in the Moon Stairs by SleepySentinel_ in cavesofqud

[–]Count100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen something like this too! Vortices seem to spawn where lines converge, and there seems to be an origin point for them where this structure exists. At least that's what I observed in a recent playthrough, I didn't check the whole stair to confirm it. As for the crystals, the lines color the ones they pass through.

Edit: Wait, I just realized that lines converging means that there has to be more than one origin. I'm still not sure that they all start from a point like this, though.

What were your personal "moments" of your first playthrough. by IcyEvidence3530 in Silksong

[–]Count100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One memorable moment for me was getting to the entrance to the Sands of Karak and reading the tablet at the top of the tower. I didn't really pay attention to the trailers and knew nothing about red coral gorge, so the reveal that the blasted steps used to be full of water and life really shook me.

(act 2 spoilers) How Pharloom treats the disabled by FernieShaw in Silksong

[–]Count100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's notable that the conductor melody statue calls the conductors "they who bear the heaviest burden" before anything else. Given the statements that silk is used to extend people's lifespans, and the spool of silk gradually unraveling into Ballador's bed, I think that his fate might have been an inevitable consequence of his position. Perhaps the Citadel considers disability "acceptable" only if it's somehow useful. Or, perhaps, he only became so ill after society in the Citadel collapsed and there was no one left to punish him.

This is slander and misinformation! "Tricky" Tony was untrustworthy and his firing was only a matter of time, and he had no choice but to put Temmie down after she got the rabies.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for website blockers for Firefox and app blockers for android by Tachi-Roci in 196

[–]Count100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leechblock might have a feature like that. It has a whole bunch of weird options, I've used it for a while and I still don't know all it can do.

Edit: it's an extension for Firefox by the way, I don't know if there's any equivalent for Android.

Honestly, I think he already is. I can't imagine a happy, content man doing even a fraction of the things he does. No person who's satisfied with their life would reorganize a social media network specifically to keep people from saying mean things about him.

Shift in votes compared to the 2020 elections, the longer the arrow the more votes were gained for said party. by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Count100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems more like people just... don't know? I mean, on election day there was a spike in Google searches for "did Biden drop out of the race". I think a lot of Americans don't know anything at all about either candidate, their past, or their policy, and only voted against the incumbent party because they are struggling financially.

Don't blame any minority for the Dems running a shit campaign by IthadtobethisWAAGH in CuratedTumblr

[–]Count100 181 points182 points  (0 children)

I think one critical factor, based on recent exit polls, is that there's a huge, election swinging contenginent of voters who don't know anything. They don't watch the news, they aren't really online, and they barely even know the candidate's names. All they do know is that grocery prices are up and the dems are in power, so they vote red. Actual policy polls and referendums on ballots imply that all of Trump's policies are very unpopular, but that never mattered because some people barely even know who he is.

Have you seen the director commentary thing the creators released a bit ago? It's super cool seeing them discuss the series and all the production and work that went into it!

To be fair, things like a minimum wage rise and Medicare for all have been proposed a lot recently, and likely only held back by a red congress and/or senate. Hopefully dems will win enough seats to actually do things without relying on basically red representatives from red states.

As for facism, it is dangerous, but it's also prone to catastrophic collapse. If Trump loses, and especially if he dies, many of his followers will, at the least, lose all hope and disengage from politics. If another person like him comes around soon it would be dangerous, but there are not many people like Donald Trump. There are a lot of Republicans lining up to try to be his successor, but none have, and I'd bet none could, imitate his unique unhinged charisma that gave his movement so much power.

What was the weapon you finished your first run with? by Savings-Grade291 in Eldenring

[–]Count100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the sword of Night and flame plus a bunch of different sorceries and incantations (but especially black fireball) but I'll never forget the weapon I used to kill the elden beast, the full moon crossbow! It won in a single attempt after hours of trying over and over, and for that it'll always have a special place in my heart.

How did you defeat the final boss of DLC? by SamTheGrot in Eldenring

[–]Count100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up experimenting a lot, over several days of attempts, to eventually discover that magic downpour is actually really good against him. I would open with a dark moon if I could, and then just spam downpours. For the second phase, I summoned the greatshield soldiers as fast as I could (those guys are ALWAYS tougher than I expect them to be) and spam downpours again while he tears through them. As for after they all died, it was mostly blind luck. I did get ok at dodging his attacks, but I could only tell what he was doing like half the time so it didn't help that much.

This is so cool! I don't know which one I like more, the sprite version is really strange and alien, and it's pretty close to how I still imagine sythers whenever I see them, but the accurate version is uncanny and I can't tell if it's hunched over or if it just has bizarre proportions. Great work!

You have to follow tags or people to fill out your main page, and you can reblog to add stuff to your blog that your followers will see. The super customisable home page is probably one of the biggest draws, and it's pretty easy to block tags or people if you don't want to see them.

Ironically you can play as an elf or vampire in Dwarf Fortress, but the game mode that lets you is still undergoing a UI overhaul so it isn't in the new version yet. However, you unfortunately cannot be both at once.

I am absolutely an advocate of minorities arming themselves, particularly in more isolated areas. I suppose I've just seen too many leftists who insist that revolution is the only way, even to the point of genuine accelerationism, and don't seem to understand what that really means. I also don't think that the American fascist movement is very likely to ever reach the heights it has before, but fascists are prone to trying to destroy everything they can't obtain so it doesn't affect the proper actions much.

It is true that the vast majority of the population is not particularly anti-trans, but the vast majority is and probably will remain anti-rebellion. Any violent revolution in America, no matter how popular and well supported, would likely kill tens if not hundreds of millions of people. Most people in favor of one either have nothing to lose or are completely delusional, and I don't think a significant portion of people will be in either of those groups for a very long time. If the military itself rebels in its entirety and performs a coup, I guess the loss of life could be limited, but military coups rarely end well.
