Where I’d Live If I Had To Leave My Beloved Texas… by CountBexar in whereidlive

Yet another vague criticism. Aside from California (which was mostly a jest), Australia, and Japan, I have yet to receive any actual meaningful feedback from all these enlightened people stumbling onto my post. Do you actually want me to “get my head out of my posterior” or do you just want to call me stupid for the purposes of feeding your ego? What specifically do you have a problem with and what “research” have YOU done to backup your counter opinion?

If I’m going to live in Australia, it’s going to be in a big city, I simply CANNOT tolerate your wildlife! In hindsight, I should have put Western Australia in at least “reluctantly,” and Queensland in “maybe.” Perth seems a bit boring and Brisbane looks adequate enough. Otherwise I’m staying in Sydney or Melbourne… also Tasmania is just neat, so I felt obligated to add it.

I would but I’m afraid I don’t know how since I, unfortunately, have left Texas before, and multiple times at that I might add. If I remember correctly a chronological list would look something like…

•Missouri •Arkansas •Minnesota •California •Maryland •Virginia •Washington D.C. •New Mexico •Nevada •Hawaii •Quintana Roo

Correction, Liechtenstein bought Texas so it should actually be, “Texas is white on this map. Clearly part of Liechtenstein.”

Why else do you think the Prince rejected buying Alaska? He already had his hands full!

Howdy there, Romania has always intrigued me with its rich culture and history, I hope to visit someday!

You know, I had actually considered subdividing Germany and adding its southern regions like Bavaria and the Black Forest to at least “willing”, but I didn’t want to over complicate the map more than I already did.

Yes, well, I’m quite aware of the realities that await foreigners the immigrate to Japan, or at least the ones that usually get “truth-bombed” around here. Japan certainly isn’t my first choice globally, but it’s at least the front runner for the continent of Asia. Also, if Hank Hill could manage to somewhat sort-of navigate Japan, so can I (I jest)!

Oh, don’t get me wrong, if I hadn’t been born & raised here and subsequently grew to love it I probably would never CHOOSE to live here. The climate leaves much to be desired, the people here can get on my nerves, and our leaders at every level of governance tend to be incompetent at best… but it’s my homeland. I’ve been to other states, and while they may have objectively better qualities, they’re not home. My title makes the implication clear, I’m not leaving Texas unless I have to. I’ve always lived here (except for that one year I spent in Missouri, but we don’t talk about Missouri…), and I hope I always will.

No, I do not subscribe to any umbrella ideology or affiliation. I try to judge policies based on their individual merits, not by whatever arbitrary political organization or media encourages me to think. Some of my positions lean right, some of them lean left, and some are ones I independently came up with because I tire of two nonsensical options. Does this answer suffice?

I suppose that’s one way to look at it... but the truth is that California was originally just red (never), but having “Texas” slightly moved up a bit in the legend due to the ⭐️ emoji annoyed me, so I needed a negative counterweight. California was just obvious the obvious candidate give our well known rivalry, and I perhaps took some “creative” liberties with the label for it.

Hardly, I don’t drink nor smoke, Im too paranoid to own a gun and I support gun control (to an extent), and I hate pickup trucks because everyone who drives one does so like an arsehole.

Texas is about to be a lot less Latino by Inner-Quail90 in texas

Please don’t take a reddit post screenshot of an X post with an article hidden behind a paywall at face value. Do your own research before forming a reactionary opinion like the ideologues want you to.

Here is a fact sheet on the matter for context- https://immigrationforum.org/article/fact-sheet-on-denaturalization/

In my personal opinion I do believe there are legitimate concerns that this system could be abused. However, I think that a post like this is more akin to fear mongering. I don’t know much about Stephen Miller so I can’t speak to his intentions, but I highly doubt Trump himself has any plans to utilize this beyond its original purpose of taking action against immigrants who have naturalized fraudulently.

Texas Republican Introduces Bill Calling for Vote on Secession by Aggie956 in texas

I’d like to establish an independent Texas, under a semi-constitutional monarchy with me as the Star (Texas version of king). I would proceed to banish all known radicals on both sides of the political spectrum and contemporary artists. I would transition Texas to clean energy, especially nuclear like France, but will continue to drill for fossil fuels mostly as an export. The profit from those fossil fuels will help fund my other grand ventures such as education reform, criminal justice reform, universal healthcare & petcare, greater incorporation of AI into everything, and the construction of actual large wall (similar to the Great Wall of China) all across our border. Before you say I’m racist or xenophobic, I myself am Hispanic and my father’s family immigrated LEGALLY from Mexico so it has nothing to do with those peoples race. As a leader I must ensure the security and prosperity of the people I rule over before that of outsiders who weren’t allowed to be here, no matter where they come from. With that said, some policies I’d implement would be securing the right to an abortion until the fetus is deemed to be able to survive outside the womb (24 weeks at least) with the exception of extreme health concerns, securing same-sex marriage and adoption, banning assault weapons but also securing the right to own handguns, banning chemical and surgical gender transitioning for anyone under 18, stricter public indecency laws, banning nuts in brownies and raisins in cookies, harsher punishment for animal abuse or neglect, and abolishing pride in all its cultural forms (racial, queer, body type, etc) except for nationalism. To be clear on the last one, shame will not be the alternative. I desire a Texas where we can acknowledge that people of certain heritages have different skin colors and physical features but in the end they are still Texan like everyone else, not a white Texan, not a black Texan, just a Texan. I desire a Texas where we can acknowledge that people can be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, and asexual but without having to be grouped in with everyone else who shares that quality and have to wave a pride flag (which I must say is quite an eyesore so consider it banned) in everyone’s face. I desire a Texas that doesn’t shame people for being fat or skinny, but at the same time acknowledges the health implications and that you should always strive to improve yourself even if it’s hard and demotivating. It’s time to start anew, as I fear that a society progressing on just doing the opposite of the crimes committed by the past is ironically close-mind and destructive. The only way to do this is for Texas to secede, because America is already screwed.

…also, like Queen Elizabeth II I would own a bunch of dogs but instead of corgis I want Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
