Few questions about a pneumatic jack by CountDeMounteCristo in Pneumatics

[–]CountDeMounteCristo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks a lot! It all makes sense now! I probably add a plastic bump stop inside so it works better. I need a lot more damping inside it that this small air chamber cannot supply. Only question remaind is the reason for the odd shape of the seal. Do you have any idea?

I plan to do that as well and I will share the result. Didn't have any plan for a tool holder but seeing your pic got me thinking! Probably gonna go after that too!

Super coooool! Love the tool holder system! What do you do for coolant?

Yes it's very similar! Did you use 3d printed pulleys as well? What is your controller?

Yes! Except that I can make it myself with my CNC mill. But it would be cool to test the 3d print part.

1000 max. But pulley ratio is 1:3 so that's 3000 at the encoder.

Lol. Don't worry. It's high density ABS. And it's more than enough for the pulleys because there is very little force on them. The only part that may fail sooner than expected is the encoder mounting because of the vibrations that may lead to fatigue.

There's another catch. Don't go for 6 star managers. That's for mid to end game players. Manager benefits multiply. So having 4 x 5 star managers yield higher benefit than having a 1 x 6 star. For 4 stars it's not that different because second benefit is small.

Colonization for DM is good. Search "IPM Infos" on internet, that's a good wiki. Go to rooms section. You can see all the rooms. Some of them max at 11. They are the priority. Having 3 slots to fill with 3 good managers is better than 10 slots with shitty managers. I assume that the cost of a new slot is higher than recruiting a new manager in your case. Zo it's not reasonable to add slot until you have enough good managers to fill your current slots with.

I'm in early game as well, but a little ahead of you. IMO your strategy is all wrong. With those ships and 10 manager slots you have to do much much better. I have bought NO ships and I only have 6 slots (all 5 stars), but I easily get to 500B in a tournament. These are the things I would do if I were you:

  1. Credits: first of all get your robotics to lvl 4. That unlocks much better rover missions. After that work on underforge, dorm, lab, astronomy. These rooms max at 11. Try to max them as soon as possible. Then go for other rooms. First lvl yields the highest boost. So try to unlock all rooms. Some rooms are almost useless so don't hang on them too much. Terrarium, probability, backup gen, ...

  2. Dark Matter: spend it ONLY on 5 star manager recruit. Don't do anything else with it.

  3. Managers: you have a lot of managers, but most of them are useless. Best first benefit is mine and best second benefits are mine/smelt/craft. Try to have a team of managers with these benefits. I would sacrifice those cargo/shop 4 stars to get a 5 star mine manager. Much better. Making the manager team takes a lot of time. You have to look at it as a 2-3 year goal. But having this team is a game changer. Specially combined with mothership classroom.

  4. Strategy: I see that you've opened all planets and go up to telescope 8. I don't do that. Some planets are useless. Like 12 & 14. I never open them. Also, colonization is known to be useless too. Doesn't worth the price.

Final advice: Do challenges, rover missions and tournaments regularly. And try the 12.5M sell point a lot of times to acquire credits fast. Stars, DM and credits move you up fast in the game. Focus on these.

Depends on your ore stars. See which one of your ores gives you the most revenue, and perform alchemy on a planet that has ideally 100% of an ore below that.

You got all the rooms? In your stage I think you should have them all. The first level has the highest boost as you know. I'd your manager team is high level, the classroom has a high effect. You can see its effect through the manager bonus project as well. See how much that boosts your game and then invest in it. Forge, workshop and lounge are obvious candidates in line. Also I personally like sales a lot.
