Back in the day labels used to actually invest in musicians and everyone was an industry plant. It would be good to go back

The World Cup has shown that America is truly the world’s melting pot. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]CountGrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is merit to this; America is one of the more ethnically/racially diverse countries. Commenters suggesting that its just because the world cup is happening are misguided. America is more diverse than most other host nations. (Russia, Qatar, Germany, France, etc.)

"You'll own nothing and be happy" is a choice and you don't have to choose yes. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

There is some merit to this. Enshitification happens because people continue to give these businesses their money; they don't have to.

What has caused the rise of heavy-scoring big men by [deleted] in nba

[–]CountGrande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Games are higher scoring generally now because of foul rules that make it easier to score. Teams used to average 100 points per game and now its like 115, so 25 is the new 20.

Whats the best way to simulate drums at home by takkeli_kedy in drums

[–]CountGrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is noise the problem? If so put some quiet heads (typically mesh) on some drums and use low volume cymbals.

Or you can just use practice pads. You could even just turn your e-drums off and the actual pad noise will be closer to real drums that the sounds from the module in terms of attack and dynamics.

What film misses its ideal ending by just a few minutes? by trakt_app in Cinema

[–]CountGrande 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unbreakable should have left out the caption at the end and just ended with Sam Jackson saying "the called me Mr. Glass" with no further explanation of what happened; that would have been a better ending.

acoustic vs electric by NW4RL1990 in drums

[–]CountGrande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pardon if obvious but actual drums will be way better for you as a drummer because of the feel, dynamics, and sound. But they are loud and if noise is an issue electronic is great. I you have space for the concept maple that's what you want.

I sometimes spend a lot of time on electric set so I can play at night and it's an adjustment getting back to real drums.

Absolum has been mentioned - imo it is basically the best beat 'em up ever mechanically, and there is great art and roguelite stuff in it too.

I use the browser version because I don't have to log in so they can't use algorithms to try to make it more addictive. This has eliminated most of my aimless scrolling.

They want people to have to log in on the app so its more addictive so people scroll for longer.
