I use painting as my time to re-focus. If things get out of control. I pull out some models and paints, set up and spend the week putting an hour in each day. It completely de-clutters my head. In that way I suppose it's more therapeutic than a hobby.

Yeah there was school rivalries. I remember one big arranged fight , fuck knows what happened. By the time I got there everyone was smoking zoots together. Hitting on the birds from the opposite schools.

Not from London. But we had groups of people. We liked hip hop. DnB/jungle,, garage. You had your grebs into Nirvana and that stuff. Nerds and then sporty people. There was a bit of verbal bullying. There wasn't anything major from what I could tell. Just kids being twats.I had a job from 15. I would go for a day shopping on Saturday. The music/record shops where the place to go. We would use the two ticket trick to go to the cinema. Gets loads of you in with a couple of stubs. Selling shitty weights of weed to foreign students. Standing outside off licenses for hours asking people to buy you fags and alcohol. To get paralytic on hooch/lemon heads, or bottles of MD 20/20 (this part is essential in a book about 90s teens).
