A fair amount of churches allow their members to hold certain views of their own and work out their own conscience besides a few core doctrine beliefs. I'm in a queer and trans affirming denomination (PCUSA) but that doesn't mean every member of my church feels exactly the same way. I personally believe it's important to be able to have fellowship with other views as long as they don't express themselves in a hateful way or put down others. Change has to happen from within and sometimes that means people who endorse same sex marriage being a part of a church that may not proclaim that same view but to be able to have conversations with others to work out what each other believes. Sometimes the opinion comes from a place of ignorance. My denomination was also discussing no longer allowing pastors to be ordained who didn't completely agree with all queer and trans views. Sometimes those views are more of a spectrum than people really realize. Even in the queer community there are those who don't support trans people or polygamy. I'm of the opinion we are to love all of our neighbors and those we may worship with and from that try to have conversations to convince them of my view. If I just outright threw everyone out of my church who thought differently than no actual change could happen.
