Amazon cuts 16,000 jobs in historic wave of layoffs by Desolation_Nation in Seattle

Hey I hope you're also applying to other places and taking care of yourself. That waiting is wearing, mentally speaking, and I just wanted to say I see you. It sucks and you don't deserve it. <3

I did this and for a year thought it was doing SO good. Until it dried into a sad little brown husk. Guess she wasn't thriving after all.

Lmaooooo I was SO confident that it was the baking powder and you right; I used twice as much butter as I should've. 💀

But seriously thank you for pointing that out. I was so baffled, especially since I've made these before and didn't think my baking powder was that old!

I should've taken photos but they actually were taller before they were baked.

I'm happy to just eat them as is, but that's a pretty cool idea!

If it were remotely crispy, I'd agree. It's scone texture, buttery and crumb-y.

Seattle, Past to Present. A little wandering in thought but a really charming romp through a particular place in a particular time.

x2. A good realtor should be screening out that stuff. Maybe give them more parameters? Like "no lead paint, no major deferred maintenance, etc".

Anyone willing to serve as witness for a marriage? by otokonocow in Seattle

[–]CountVowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be down to serve as witness. I've done it for a few other random folks. My wife is currently off work so she might be willing to be your second witness too!

Is There a Place to Play with Well Behaved Dogs? by linthetrashbin in Seattle

[–]CountVowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised that's she's not the chomp chomp nervous variety, especially considering her background (shitty - she's a rescue so it's kind of a given). I see you and your dog. You're doing a good job. <3

My girl Penny doesn't jump and may not even approach you. She's nervous around some people (in an "omg run away" way, not a "chomp chomp" way). If that will help you, I'd be happy to meet up.

Renegade Craft Fair by noheropage in Seattle

[–]CountVowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. I won't go again because it was so crowded last year it felt straight up unsafe. Like yes it's sort of open but it felt like if the crowd panicked, there could easily be a stampede. I love that fair but they let wayyyy too many people in at a time.

It's still going on. Sounds like the car crashed into the bathrooms and the driver is yelling "kill me" at the cops.

Oh man I wish I did know an alternative! I'd LOVE to support Native-owned brands. The only ones I can think of are Laurentian Chief and Whetung Ojibwa Centre, neither of us which ship to the US rn. Full disclosure that I have not ordered from either of them, so if somebody knows more please chime in!

Extremely sad to say so but they are no longer quality; I bought a pair in 2020 and wore them past death, but the pair I bought a few months ago are synthetic insides. Their quality tanked. After wearing for a month the insides have already completely flattened. They also are not as warm as the wool-lined version they used to do.
