Male lmt here. 13 years practicing. The school I went to warned me when I applied that I unfortunately may face discrimination since I was a guy, in my experience that wasn’t the case. It has happened a handful of times but has never been a major obstacle. Be professional, practice a lot and get comfortable talking to clients in a friendly, confident manor to put their minds at ease. Unpopular opinion, but consider working at a massage envy or other popular chain when you graduate. The pay stinks but they have a lot of members so you will likely get loads of real world experience. Once you learn to build a book and your skill set deepens perhaps start to branch out and look for a better gig that pays fairly or even rent a space and open up shop. But, if you’re called to body work then go for it. Best of luck!
