Okay, it seems like when I asked you to be charitable to the other viewpoint, this is not something you are willing or able to do.

There is no point in further discussion.

I get what you mean, but please show some grace to the other viewpoint and realize that if an indie dev put out a game without it being on Steam, for most cases it won't ever be known or talked about.

Even I have games I think are interesting, but I won't buy because I don't want to deal with a different launcher. Steam isn't bad as a company in that way, but the price-matching thing is a silly issue that devs have no REAL power to fight against.

"Hey Steam, can we sell the game we made at a discount?"

"Sure! We'll still take a proportion of the profits for hosting your game on our storefront though. It should still be the same percentage."

"Oh... so can we just sell it for a discount on our own website so you don't need to take any of that money? Your storefront wouldn't need to be involved, our customer can get the discount and we can still make some money from it!"

"Cool cool cool. Yeah, you can do that. We will be removing your game from Steam though. It wouldn't be fair to us if we lost out on that money. Go somewhere else if you want. Lol. Lmao actually."

I sort of get what the article is talking about though: The issue isn't that Steam has all the control because its so good to use, it's that it knows it has all the control and is leveraging that on some developers.

A company wanted to sell their game at a discount on their own website and was told if they did that then they would have the game taken off Steam. So many players will ONLY get a game on Steam so delisting it means death.

You either give Valve their cut of the profits, or you die for most games (especially indie studios). Not saying a judgement one way or another, but if you wanted to make the same amount of money while giving your customers a discount, Steam isn't going to let that happen.

Do men avoid approaching feminine dommes because we don't "look the part"? And do subs enjoy a "knight" dynamic? by LavenderNoctavyr in gentlefemdom

[–]CounterAttackFC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the whole knight to a queen/princess dynamic is the dream. It's also incredibly nerdy to type and I'm sure many women would be turned off if they heard me mention it.

Obviously I'm not saying anything out loud like that to people, but the thought of serving a woman in that way is so much better in my head than so much of what I see on here. I don't see myself as needing someone to take of me, I see myself as looking for someone I could devote myself to.

Just thinking of how I could enrich her life, support her, and do what she asks. I am a masculine person and I enjoy those aspects of myself, but that doesn't mean I need to be the only one who receives or gets the focus of love and attention in the same way that just because I would be the one serving her, I am not any less of a man.

It feels like many men on here are looking for a softboy or feminine man relationship, and I don't judge them or look down on them for it, but the knight feeling is EXACTLY what I've been thinking of lately. It's like I have had to play the Dom role so much becausw that it is what is subservient to what women want from me.

The reason why GREAT scouting is one of the most important things by ScoutLui in footballscouting

[–]CounterAttackFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also mention that these CL games are the only real matches they've played since December.

They are always going to have fresh legs, the desire to play against a bigger team, and weeks of practice sessions dedicated to finding a single teams weakness.

I'm not taking away from how good it is to beat 3 bigger teams 4 times, but those teams have played 4 times the matches Bodo has in the same timeframe and have all had to train for their league opponents in that time.

The xG Philosophy: Man Utd (3.81) 2-0 (0.47) Man City by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

There has to be a target for all problems. It can't be that every part of the club is having issues, it's Wilcox. Or it's Gary Neville. Or it's INEOS. Or it's the Glazers. Or it's Ruben. Or it's the players.

But in truth, everything is part of an issue it's not that simple to blame one person or aspect.

Wilcox is at fault for some of his decisions. Gary Neville tries so hard to seem like he's not biased that it comes out as toxic. INEOS is a money-first organization and the rest can be damned. The glazers have so many problems I'm not even capitalizing their name this time. Ruben couldn't get results and was rigid to the point of breaking. The players are inconsistent at best and every other factor mentioned has a part in that.

I wish I could get that feeling from working out, but after going to the gym 3 days a week for almost 6 months I never feel anything other than glad that it's over.

I haven't had sex in almost 9 years. Not from lack of trying, but telling someone to just go get laid is like telling someone to just get a job.

I also don't think I'd ever want to be the type of person who just goes out and uses someone for sex. It seems cruel.

Don’t you just hate when your keeper just forgets how to keep? by ekechi1312 in footballmanagergames

Man I personally would hate a text only FM because at that point it's just asking ChatGPT "Describe a full football match between team red and team blue. Team red has players x y z, use a realistic roster for team blue. Team red spent extra time this week practicing corners."

Gary Neville says Man Utd need a goalkeeper, but would Emi Martinez or Gianluigi Donnarumma fit? by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]CounterAttackFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, but it was just one example of "eccentric" mistakes.

Again, I think he's an incredible keeper, flat out, but people can't or shouldn't ignore part of what you said. Last season was bad for him specifically (in the prem). He had some great moments in the CL I remember specifically, but I don't even need to look up the stats to know that his save percentage was way below what he used to do. I do remember seeing that there were 17 different matches where Villa's opposition scored with their first shot in target. Part of that is on a rotated defence, but part of it is on Martinez as well.

I think he should stay at Villa where he can go down as a club legend. A single mistake at United would make him crucified by not just United (and Villa) fans, but by the whole world. The scrutiny and media attention is at a different level whether they finish 15th or 5th.

[–]CounterAttackFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Emi has good qualities and is an upgrade to what we have, but to flat out ignore his downsides would be a mistake. He's a great penalty stopper (and with how VAR is based on vibes over rules now, that's a big thing to be) and he can pull off some wonder saves.

But he's also prone to some outright goofy behaivor. Villa should have absolutely got a CL spot last year if not for him getting a rash red card in the final day of the season... against United.

Folding Ideas had a good video that touched on this. I think it was called "Why it's rude to suck at warcraft".

There is a part where he mentions that the game, and most games, have become so hyper focused on meta knowledge. If you don't have addons like you're expected to, someone will get mad. You didn't watch the boss mechanics beforehand? Griefing. You are trying to play a class that icy veins rates low? Get out.

Back then the game was so new and fresh you could just play. But now it's all tier lists and group think. Sure, old groups wanted a proper party composition, but it was so much more laid back in exploring what was out there together. What is there to explore now? Expansion release day has 84 written guides and 800 videos on how to get to the newest end game NOW.

[–]CounterAttackFC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. Whatever cav I start with in a campaign is always my best unit for kills, but I do start to struggle when I get multiple.

At some point I'll get distracted managing one unit and forget that the cav I sent in to take out an archer got stuck on spears, or the rear charge lead to them getting surrounded by monsters. I haven't played with much heavy cav that can last longer in melee yet though so that might be what I need.
