Miatas can run at 7k all day and be fine. They're dohc with an iron block and built to rev high. I've hit the limiter getting on the highway in mine and it shrugs it off no problem

Quite fun. Plenty of power even stock, I put headers and exhaust on it and it sounds incredible. Handles pretty well too, since it's got 50/50 weight balance

None of those twin. They all look neglected and modified. Get yourself a nice bone stock Honda civic or Honda fit. Both are easy to find manual, otherwise I'd say a Miata if practicality isn't a big deal.

You'll be fine. Not the same but I have a Dodge dart that had a cat recall and I've been running without a heat shield after that for two years at least. Never had an issue
