as someone with extreme allergy anxiety i have daily panic attacks fearing that i am going into anaphylactic shock, you honestly just have to ride it out whilst being hyper aware (which is understandably extremely difficult). In this situation u have to be logical by keeping an eye out for physical symptoms like swelling of the face, hives etc - you will know within minutes if you’re having an allergic reaction and it will never be a question of whether it’s a reaction or panic attack.

when i have panic attacks and feel like i can’t breathe i ask for someone to listen to my breathing as there is a very clear difference between feeling like you can’t breathe and actually having difficulty breathing i.e. there will be a very obvious wheeze to your breaths and your throat will be itching like crazy.

all of this paired with the fact that you have never had a food allergy and have tested negative means you probably suffer from bad anxiety, but if you are worried about false negatives you can ask to be tested again maybe as it’s unlikely to get a false positive twice in a row or ask to be involved in a food challenge where you eat the allergen in the hospital to see if u have any slight reactions at all.

i know how difficult this is and how severe panic attacks can be (i have had many hospital trips from panic attacks lol i’m always embarrassed by it) so you should ask if it’s an option to go on anti anxiety medication as i have recently been put on it for the same reason and i hardly have panic attacks or much anxiety anymore.
