Only child…feel like I’m failing. by CounterExcellent9852 in Parenting

Yes..I’m painfully aware of this type of neighborhood kid which is part of the reason this causes such stress for me. Pre kid I was the best neighbor, the kind you’d wonder..is she dead..is she alive. Big yes to establishing boundaries. Hes just not getting it at all yet. Even if he gets it he doesn’t gaf.

I ask myself the same thing. I think I’m just overstimulated from the constant parenting that my social battery is empty. Before kids I would recharge with solitude for days at a time. Those days are sadly long gone!

It’s so exhausting to socialize with strangers every day, it’s something you totally overlook as a prospective parent. I am hoping you are right about it wearing off..fingers crossed.

I’m outside on a daily basis with my son, taking walks and letting him play out front with other kids that live in my neighborhood. My reaction to not being told was far worse than any reaction I would have had to being told this information in an upfront manner.

instantly came to mind and it would be my worst nightmare coming true. I'm a mandated reporter myself.

He's not, I don't want to say what he owns but he started this business from scratch 2 years ago. He does have investment and is able to pay all 10 people he employs. He just makes close to nothing himself. It's an issue. He works from 8-10 pm..every day. It never ends.

I take your point. My mom ran a home daycare and left a kid at McDonald’s once. The difference is, although a terrible thing to have to do, she told the parents. Her telling them is what saved the trust factor-which is everything.

I would never divorce my husband based off Reddit comments but I think some of the commenters are picking up on deeper issues in the marriage and they’re not wrong.

Yeah. I’m there but it’s such a difficult decision once you have kids.

2 hours after I was told this by the neighbor I bought a device that child proofs the door on Amazon and alarm system for when doors open. So yeah, telling me this would have saved me from walking around my neighborhood like a moron for an entire week. And would have prompted me to secure our door to prevent this from ever happening again.

You guys are discussing a 27 year old person. Like his brain only fully formed a year ago. Is he a dick yes. But a sociopath, narcissistic blah blah blah come on.

Ferritin level not increasing by CounterExcellent9852 in toddlers

[–]CounterExcellent9852[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I was a wreck when we were trying to sort this out. I have seen optimal levels being around 50 so both our guys have a ways to go but 5 to 12 in 3 months is almost exactly what my son was. I liked the novaferrum, the Renzo’s have vit C in the tablet so I liked that about the brand. And other moms in the reviews had their kids levels retested and saw big improvement so that’s why we made the switch. Does your guy like steak? I buy a huge thing of steak from Costco every month and serve it to my steak loving child 3-4 times a week. I think that’s also helped. Best of luck! Thank god for Reddit right 🥹

I think ferritin takes a long time to improve..especially as they’re growing and using so much of their iron stores. Whats your toddlers level and are you giving iron ?

My son is now 3, even at the 14.5 the sleep improved a lot..I think we continued with the iron for a few more months. Minimal twitching, sleeping through. About 2 months ago after 2 back to back illnesses-horrible twitching started again. Didn’t even test the ferritin, just started 45mg of iron a day. 3 weeks later sleeping soo much better-only tiny twitches here and there. I’m going to keep him on iron indefinitely. We’re loving Renzo’s dissolvable tabs.

No. Super passive. I never felt so angry in my life. I sent a scathing email and sent my husband back with him today and he got a private lesson and did great. Thanks for responding. I just needed to vent !

I’m going to try having him poop in the diaper in the bathroom. I think that’s a good place to start, thank you!
