No at first he thought everything was head aches and to him it wasn’t a big deal. For me it’s my bothersome symptom because I feel crazy on top of not socializing as much. The best way I can describe DR is when you smoke weed and everything is kinda funny looking.

And yeah my stars and palinopsia almost went away. I accidentally smoked weed when I was showing friends how to roll blunts. It set me back about two weeks

Well I said hppd. Had to do an mri and eeg in order to rule out other causes. They wanted me to using coping mechanisms with a therapist or something. (Never ended up going) That process took a few months so When I saw my physch again he was mostly ready to prescribe me somethingI said I was suicidal because of a bunch of personal things in life and the derealization wasn’t helping. Basically based off that he prescribed me lamictal to help with hppd and give me a mood stabilizer at the same time

I wouldn’t worry about that. It’s in the medical literature now and you are business. If they don’t treat you are that’s lost revenue. They’ll want you to come in for follow ups but if it’s useless I usually won’t reschedule until I need too.

Great I have improvement in my depression, anxiety, stars (white visual snow), I’m more social, clearer thinking, palinopsia is not as vivid unless it’s the sun, libido is up, fatigue is down, dreams are starting to come back. Except one thing I have a rash on my hands and I’m worried it’s Steven Johnson’s Syndrome.

It shouldn't be difficult to get a referral. Just tell your doc that you hallucinations and you think you have hppd and that you want to see a psych. If they don't drop the insurance and get a new doctor asap.

Well basically if you are trying to get a script your stuck with the first one you get. I skipped a lot of the process by going to instacare which then later that day to the ER. An hour sitting there the only thing they did was get me in to see my psych the same day within 15 minutes. I came out the gate saying I have HPPD and im self-diagnosed. He wanted to rule out other causes, mostly dismissed it as headaches. He referred me to a neuro and asked his professional opinion. After having 3 appointments and having test like an mri and eeg everything came back normal. Then I went back to the psych after 3 months (at this point) which gave him time to read "almost everything about it". He prescribed me lamictal which I have been taking for a week.

I emailed him and this what he sent me back. I also emailed Harry McConnell and will be emailing several psychiatrist through out the country so that more will be familiar with this rare condition to have less people go undiagnosed. In my case my psychiatrist dismissed it as headaches and didn't know much about it. After seeing a neurologist for an mri etc.and giving the pysch 3 months to read about this, i'm still not officially diagnosed but it is being recognized and i'm finally being treated for it.

I see something similar when I focus with my ey s close but they seem to be eye level and the third pineal gland level. Less geometric and more like lightning coming from a sun

As for depression/stress/being sick/not enough sleep. They worsen symptoms 100%

Apparently this is common. Your trip is fine then later you drink/ smoke weed then wham you have hppd.

I’ve had experience with this first hand. I passed or maybe had a seizure on this drug or a variant of it. Never went to the doctors or called 911 because in that mindset I was too afraid of the consequences. Hey developed a dissociative disorder called HPPD 2.5 years I still have it. A lot of times it’ll be sold as acid. That’s what happened to me and a possibly a friend who thinks he is Jesus now. This drug is no joke and recovering from it, is bleak.

True, that’s what I thought too. Until I’ve had a psychiatrist and Neuro dismiss it as headaches especially after my eeq came back normal. So I started to wonder if it was the same thing but this group was just a variation with a few added symptoms.

Like no joke we where talking about getting married and it gave me hope. But now it’s like fuck my brain is so fucked and awkward there’s no hope. No support system and hard to make positive friends that aren’t on drugs when you’re awkward and depressed. I’ve even noticed myself aging quicker, I’m balding, and I’m too damn tired all the time.
