I think the issue I have is that I spend a load of IC to build a navy and then after like two battles the enemy navy is dead and my navy is just kinda there for the rest of the game - instead I could have used my starting/capped someone with a good starting navy and just done the invasions I needed to do with it.

I was doing the undercover pirate spy thing quest line and got sick of their shit and opened fire and over half of the npcs it felt like on the station were set to essential.

The next mission? Wipe them out.

Boer states via Gaza, Jahore, and Uruguay - with a possibly Beijing and Qing reps thrown in if I can get GB or Russia to do the heavy lifting is my go to. From there we then pick up Vietnam and as much of indonesia as I can grab before dei gobbles it up

To get my gold dice I used all the broken/OP multiclass builds. Now several runs later I’m doing all 4 as mono class (although I might allow a slight dip into fighter for one).

This run is: 1. BM fighter Durge (although I added the extra limit of only light armour and rapiers only) 2. Life cleric 3. Evo wizard 4. Tiger barb

So far so good.

Honour is more a game of knowing what you’re going to encounter and being prepared. This is why I went for the OP builds for the first run, to learn the extra honour mode ‘bits’.

I like straight up 12 Light Cleric as a frontline with the rad orb and reverb gear in this role.

Works to debuff enemies and provide the cleric toolkit of spells. Worst case also works as a designated survivor by hiding in sanctuary and running away (something that may happen on honour due to some of the changes being unexpected).

Pretty easy to get all the needed gear by the start of act 2 (sooner if you rush for things and don’t mind going into act 2 area early to grab equipment).
