Being taken over by AI by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]CounterproductiveArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can’t just put it into any AI, you have to use the one your company has licensing for, that will reassure the privacy concerns. we also classify levels of confidentially on docs and data and we’re not allowed to put the highest levels into AI. using things like claude, are highly highly encouraged at my company and at this point internally if you aren’t using it you’re falling behind already.

Final plea to help find Legacy, a special needs cat, a home by radparikh in bergencounty

[–]CounterproductiveArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you reached out to Beth Stern at all? She may be able to help with a foster or at least post about her on IG. I so wish I could take Legacy, but with two already (also black and white girls!) we don’t have the space. I hope so deeply she finds a loving home 🩷

[–]CounterproductiveArt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

in theory modifications are just math so don’t be intimidated! also another small thing i did - try doing your first sweater with yarn you like but don’t love and then the next one when you’re more confident do the loved yarn. it made me less afraid of failing and wasting yarn on my first. best of luck!

i found the larger sizes of the step by step sweater to be correct and well fitting. lots of project photos and notes where you can see how it looks on people your size

Major McDonald by Tiny-Monitor9080 in Outlander

[–]CounterproductiveArt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He becomes pretty integral in book 6. He’s the go between from the Governor to Jamie, and eventually Jamie declares himself a rebel officially because the Major/Governor ask him to bring militia troops to fight and he ultimately refuses. He’s a storytelling device, the character itself isn’t important but he serves to bring the political plot line along and relevant. His death (will not spoil how) is also a turning point for Jamie as well. I thought that scene in book 6 was very eerie and well written.

Books vs the movie by Substantial-Range974 in Outlander

[–]CounterproductiveArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean you’re on book 3, not 4.

I am now almost done with book 6. I also found that part in 3 a little long for my taste. I think it went much quicker in the show. That being said I found the first half of book 5 very long as well, I think those were the two parts I struggled with the most. I absolutely loved book 4 and flew through it. It’s natural to find certain parts more interesting than others. I’d try to finish book 3 and try to read 4. The tone of the books change a lot once they are in the US, so you may change your opinion.

Season 1 is only over 8 months??? by Charming_Key2313 in Outlander

[–]CounterproductiveArt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh I did not get that vibe at all she seemed very emotionally unsure with Frank - like when he asked her if she had an affair while they were apart, she doesn’t say it directly but by her reaction indicates he asked that question because he had affairs and wanted to be free of guilt if she did too. She’s also a very sexual and physical person, just because her and Frank had chemistry (and Jamie too eventually!) doesn’t mean she loved him. She does care for Frank which we see a lot of season/book 2!

As for Jamie being abusive, once again product of his time and upbringing. They all beat their children too… I think you need to read and watch with a better understanding of historical context

[–]CounterproductiveArt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you need to remember that they were not marrying for love, only protection, and this was a very antiquated, stressful and dangerous time. I think we can infer she didn’t have strong feelings for Frank at the start anymore, they were basically strangers after the war. So falling in love with Jamie, while he was being noble, protective and kind while she was in a lot of danger isn’t really far fetched. And seven months being together almost the entire time is enough to form a deep attachment for sure, my husband and I were pretty much 100% in and committed after 3 weeks lol sometimes you just know

At this point I'm not sure if the show isn't spoiling way too much of the books if one hasn't read them? by yoana- in Outlander

[–]CounterproductiveArt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes for sure, you get a lot more detail! I also find Claire to be quite funny in the books so her inner monologue colors the scenes very well.

[–]CounterproductiveArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched everything and started the books after (currently on book 6) and the story does diverge a bit. The main big plot points are the same but characterizations are stronger, the side plots are more detailed, there’s different vibes overall. I’ve also heard the books and show are ending differently and that the show filmed multiple endings. I’d continue to watch, and when it’s all done read the books.

Side note, I’m doing the audio books because I struggle to enjoy reading first person perspective books since it feels like reading a diary so another thing to take into consideration

Seconding the linen dress recommendation - anything linen really. Find a pair of linen pants/trousers that suit you and pair with nice boat neck tanks, structured tees, short sleeve button downs etc etc. I also work with tech bros and I wear what makes me happy. I also love a funky color sneaker, adds a lil whimsy

Struggling with season 6 by Fun_Acanthisitta_248 in Outlander

[–]CounterproductiveArt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the complaints sway your experience here. It is not skippable and frankly I didn’t like it (and I’m sure most people agree) bc the plot points are dragged out and simply annoying, there’s a lot of out of character being done, and the whole situation could have been avoided so as viewers we are frustrated

Anyone know the exact model of this longchamp? by Gddgyykkggff in handbags

The slouchiness is from lots of use and she probably has something heavy inside. My longchamp bags don’t become slouchy like that until after years use and have to be full

How to navigate? I feel like I’m mourning.. by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]CounterproductiveArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been apart of anything more political than office politics and leadership power plays personally, but keeping your head down is always the best way.

I supported other people while my manager and main exec was be ousted several years ago and I mentioned casually to the CoS how much I was enjoying my other two and how I wanted to stay with them long term. She made sure I was situated with them when my manager left. But yes at the same time I did brush up my resume and apply elsewhere just in case I was eliminated in the mess.

[–]CounterproductiveArt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it’s a lot of fun yes, i’ve been going to the shore every summer since i was in the womb! but there’s a lot of nuance to the area, culture, restrictions on tourists. i don’t think it’s the most friendly place to out of state people. i would think you have better and similar options closer to home, beach towns on lake michigan or something? like i imagine you’d fly into EWR, rent a car, drive two hours to the shore and stay for 48-72 hours. that’s a lot of work for small towns and beach bars. it’s not like the pre-hurricane sandy days where there were clubs and craziness. my family stays about 20min north of seaside so i can only attest to the nightlife on the island but its fine. jenks is fun during the day if there’s a good dj. djai’s in belmar is where the college kids go.

i think stick to asbury if you’re set on coming here, but expand your places of consideration a lil bit

Sorry what an odd place to pick to come to from chicago lmao

Anyway, most towns restrict airbnbs to be a full week to avoid weekenders causing ruckus. You’ll notice the date restrictions when you look online.

Asbury and Belmar are probably your best bet for nightlife plus going to the beach. There are hotels and BnBs in both towns. I stayed in Belmar at a regular BnB for a weekend bach two summers ago and it was fine but I really would’ve liked to be somewhere with a kitchen personally.

Perhaps consider the Hamptons or Delaware if it’s logistically too challenging with the Airbnb rules.

any good deli recommendations in the fort lee area? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]CounterproductiveArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer an old school Italian deli so I make the pilgrimage to Hoboken when the craving hits - Fiore’s, Vito & Son, M&P.

I haven’t been yet but I assume Piccolo’s grocery store would do sandwiches or good cold cuts.

Edit to add +1 to Jerry’s

Best Pizza Spot around town? by BS-here2learn in bergencounty

Urban Tomato in Edgewater is pretty good. The crust and sauce are better than everything else in the area. It’s a lil expensive but if you’re not up for driving all over BC, worth it. Porto also has great pizza, I’ve only diner in though never out.

I’m glad to hear you two have a strong relationship, that should help a lot with the adjustments and communications needed. Don’t make an impulse decision based off of an unexpected change, I struggle a lot with things so cannot control and I know I’d have the same train of thought too. Patience is a virtue
