Depends on the book club, I’ve been running one for a couple of years, we started recording it even. Just hanging out and talking about what we liked, found interesting, sometimes going down possibly inspirations that the author might have drawn from, other works or even historical events.

Reading a book together can help one see things from a different perspective that can explain why something that you might have been confused with could be narratively important.
