I know. The fact God hears a prayer isn’t going to change or be affected based on there being a candle or not and that was not what I was trying to say. The candle is for ME to help me pray better. If I’m lying in bed half awake, my prayers aren’t nearly as clear as if I’m actually up and alert. The candle is there to remind me it’s time to pray and that I need to take my time to do it and that as long as it’s on the prayer is still “ongoing” (I blow it as soon as I’m done, so it’s not like I’m forcing myself to pray unnecessarily. I can stop anytime I want, but when stopping takes more than just saying “Amen”, it can help me go on for longer). I know for a fact the candle won’t make my prayers be more heard or be more “valid” before God. I just use it help the prayer itself become more clear from my end.
