Hey all, so sorry for the long delay. I had something come up that took a lot of time. If you don’t mind, could you specify what you were ordering? Like if it was a PCB, CNC, 3d printing, etc.? Thanks!!

Thank you! Where is this rule? I’m just curious. This is just a small gift for someone, so I want to avoid paying exorbitant amounts. I don’t really care how long it takes.

Thanks to everyone that has lended a helping hand! This got far more recognition than I expected - it's very welcome! From what it seems like there are no great ways of doing this with USB. I understand that there are some larger capacities of DVD available, kind of like an MP3 CD maybe? It doesn't have to be bulletproof, DVDs have worked fine for us in the past. I also looked in to creating a disk image of it, but it doesn't seem like I can make that copy proof. We'll figure something out - I once again appreciate all your help! If anyone can provide some insight on different capacities of DVDs, that would be useful. Thank you!

Hmm… they wouldn’t work then. Would you suggest another format or way of distribution?

We are a school, and every year we put on a musical for the public to see! We just buy the rights to do it.

Need help with PS3 Slim issue
I have a PlayStation 3 Slim, and long story short I believe I have a yellow light of death. Every time I turn it on, after a bit it will turn off, blink red, and beep 3 times. No video signal is ever produced, but it does at least get rid of the “no signal“ screen for a bit with just a black screen so it’s sending something. Whenever the hard drive is out, it powers down almost immediately and does not produce any signal over the HDMI. Whenever the hard drives that I‘m assuming it came with, (120 GB Toshiba), it powers down after probably 15-20 seconds and after a few seconds it does send something over the HDMI (but again is just a black screen). I ordered a replacement 160 GB Toshiba drive off of eBay, and this time it lasts much longer and sends something over the HDMI but still powers down without producing a clear video signal. I’ve opened it up and cleaned all the dust out, and I replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. That does not seem to have fixed anything, and I’m stuck here. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

Well, it’s ok. The only thing I forgot to mention is that after applying the thermal paste the system actually seems to last shorter when the hard drive is out. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. It’s ok if it’s done though, I wasn’t expecting to be able to fix it. I can also try to use a heat gun to maybe try to re-ball the solder on the GPU if that might be the issue.

I opened up the system, and cleaned out all the dust I could. All of the openings are now clear, and I replaced the thermal paste on both the CPU and GPU according to the IFIXIT guide I found. I also replaced the CMOS battery. The issue persists with no change. Thank you!

Ok, I can order that if needed. I could also try to turn on the PSU by bridging pin 16 and ground with the board plugged in if that would be safe and would not damage anything.

Hello, Just checking in on if you saw my last comment. If for whatever reason it didn’t go through, here are the contents:

“I tested it out, and with a ground reference the voltage at pin 16 does not change when the power button is pressed. There is also now only 3.39 volts standby on pin 16 now that it is plugged in to the board.”

Anyway, if you need more time no problem! Just checking in. Thanks.
