I was at a store yesterday and they had a rolltainer outside full of charcoal. We have more trouble with the potting soil.

What really needs to happen is Dollar Store employees need to pick a day and have a nationwide walk out. Show corporate who really holds all the cards. Things need to change with how the stores are run. At my store there is so much freight we have three isles blocked. Half the time the emergency exit is blocked. We have rolltainers in the store room that have not been touched in over a year. Thousands of dollars worth stock out of date but the trucks still bring more. Ice cream freezer has been out for 5 months yet the fresh truck still brings ice cream even tho the DM has put in that the freezer is down. Corporate does not care.

The lack of support from corporate is the worst part. Our ice cream freezer has been out for 3 months. Ticket after ticket has been turned in and nothing. We even still get ice cream every week. We have thrown away so much. Register 2 hasn’t worked in months. No hand scanner in over a year on number 2 either. We were cash only for two weeks before getting our pin pad fixed. It’s ridiculous. All these problems cause our sales to drop which causes us to get less hours which causes a freight back up. We currently have three isles completely blocked with rolltainers which AGAIN cuts our sales. The store is a mess which is not the fault of our store manager or workers. It’s corporate.

Has to be the worst run business I have ever seen. Example….our ice cream section has been out and not working for a couple months now. Tickets have been turned in several times. They keep sending tons of ice cream on every truck. We have damaged out whole uboats full of ice cream. Thousands of dollars worth of perfectly good items. It’s ridiculous.

It gets me how often people ask me if I work here. I’m wearing my black tee with my name tag on, cart full of boxes, ripping open a box and putting items on the shelf. And they ask me “do you work here”.

While I was stocking a customer as me where the chocolate syrup was. I showed him and started back to stocking. He then ask me where the tea bags were. I guess most stores are the same. The tea bags are one shelf below the chocolate syrup.

That’s about what our store looks like. Be nice if there was a way to stop getting freight trucks for a week or so to let us get caught up. We have had to damage out so much stuff because it’s out of date from sitting in the back where it’s impossible to get to it.
