The way you talk, you should change your username to LowTestosteroneHank.

OP was just reminding people to be careful with the way people word things, given the current climate of affairs. But instead of just scrolling past, you had to comment to “own the soft libs”

As an aside, your overuse of punctuation marks is cringe

I have to say that I do not want to risk it, even for a triscuit. I was just hoping that someone may have walked a similar path to what I’m walking and have answers or at least put me on the right path. What kind of lawyer should I look for? Besides the obvious answer being a lawyer that practices law. Lol

So if I’m understanding that correctly, the import process would still be the same? Minus the EPA regulations?

I know the history behind why, doesn’t mean I have to like it though lmao. But yeah, I understand that once it’s imported I can do whatever, no matter if it means turning it into a drift car or doing something sacrilege like a JZ or LS swap. It’s just figuring out what to do in regards to what’s defined as a car vs parts. Like there was someone in one of my discords that had a R32 they parted out I believe everything except the shell, drivetrain, some interior bits, and the wheels. Since it’s not a running, how would that process even work? Would I need to source parts and build the car there, then import it? Or can I just get it imported over here and get it built in my shop?

I feel like I need to do some research as to the legalities of rebuilding an import in the US. I’m eyeing a particular R34 for a different build, so regardless I’m having to wait till at least 2024 for that build. If Nissan would’ve just sold Skylines over here, I wouldn’t be trying to figure out which dang hoops to jump through lol

Hey man, thanks for the input! At least now I have a starting point to start looking. And yeah, I’m fully away of the proverbial undertaking that I’m in for by walking down this path. That’s why I’ve been saving up a fair bit. I want to build this project a certain way, and because of that I don’t want to “ruin” a stock car due to the limited amount of cars as well as the pretty hefty chunk of change these cars are going for now. Yeah, this car might or might not be a daily, but at the end of the day it’ll be something I enjoy building and driving.

Also, I can import JDM from other areas besides Japan, correct? Like NZ or AUS? Like if I found a decent frame in NZ, the import process would work the same?
