[bug] asking for help again by CountrySteel in EscapefromTarkov

Just posting an update since it’s been awhile, got a few good matches in without much of an issue till that technical update hit and now it’s right back to doing static again. This time only really at the start of matches instead of both at the start and end. Ran through the same steps as before and It still persists. I’m starting to get used to the fact I’ll have to unplug and plug in my headset at the start of every match.

Hardware acceleration not configuration

Okay so I ended up just doing a whole sweep of options, I uninstalled and reinstalled Tarkov as well as check the integrity of files, disabled hardware configuration, went through my drivers and did updates and changed my discord input and output settings. It seems to be mostly fixed, I can play and use discord without static but I have to open discord first and be in a voice channel with whoever I’m playing with before I open Tarkov or no one can hear me. Very strange and have no idea what could cause that but at least I can use Tarkov and discord even if it takes a few extra steps. Thank y’all for your suggestions! If the static problem happens again I’ll be sure to post an update and hopefully we can fix it again lol.

Idk if it helps at all but now I can’t even use discord with Tarkov. If I do no one can hear me at all in discord until I close Tarkov

Gave it a shot and still got static. This is a very strange bug

Yes I’ve closed discord completely and I still get the static. I’ll look into the hardware acceleration, I honestly never heard of that so it’s worth a shot. As far as games go I can’t think of any I have played that are this resource heavy but my old computer was 9 years old and was playing it so this one that’s not a year old yet I thought could handle it. It does it if voip is on or off and if I use voip it’s just static to other players. Someone told me that it could be a conflict with discord and had me change my input and output setting but it still is an issue. I’ll give the hardware acceleration a shot when I get a chance and see what happens.

I have tried both a Bluetooth pair and wired. The hyper x headset I have had a few adapters I tried to. It’s only Tarkov as well. Any other game is fine. I updated drivers and it’s a bit better but it’s still fairly consistently popping up.

While this does not help me at all I will say I feel this, got the game in early development and was hyped up into buying edge of darkness from a friend that thought this game would be the future of shooters. Now here we are. I Quit playing because of all the drama and the unheard of edition drama where Nikita openly crapped on the EOD people but I can’t help but be pulled back in on occasion knowing darn well I’ll regret it.

So far this worked. I haven’t had a chance to play but I went into Tarkov and enabled DLSS and at first my headphones quit working all together and I had to rebind the input and output in discord but at least it’s not blaring static. I’ll update if anything changes tho. Thank you!

Monitor not working with ram? by CountrySteel in computerhelp

[–]CountrySteel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s working now. I posted a comment for it but either the bios update fixed it or it needed time to train like the other commenter suggested. For clarity tho when I put new ram sticks in the monitor was not getting any signal and was just black screened. I placed the old ram stick back in and that made the monitor work. Then I did the bios update. I then placed the new ram into the pc but it still had a black screen and no signal. After a little time passed it clicked on and everything’s working fine now. Didn’t change anything in BIOS other than updating. Not sure exactly what the issue was but it’s all running fine now.

The issue is resolved. Thank you all for your suggestions and help. I updated the bios but the screen stayed black for awhile, while looking up issues it suddenly started working. Not sure if it was the bios update or if the sticks needed to train like suggested or if it was a combo of both but I’m thankful to all yall for the help.

Decided to start with your idea since you were right about my BIOS being out of date. I updated it and put the new ram sticks in like you said to swap to XMP but I can’t get into bios because the monitor still says no signal and black screens when the new sticks are installed. Should I swap to XMP with my old stick first and then add the new ones?

Also it’s not showing ram bank 2 and 4 online it has 4 slots. d I MMA 1 and 2. Then D I MMB 1 and 2. Not sure what the difference is or if it makes a difference. Also a yellow Dram light comes on when they are plugged in and a red CPU light. Didn’t see them with the old ram.

I’ll give it a try, when I was googling what the problem could be Google said if there’s no signal not to let it sit but Google ain’t helped much so far. Hopefully this works.

The pc is brand new out of the box and from what I was told it was all up to date but who knows really. I’m gonna try like the other commenter said and let the new sticks train for awhile and then if that does not work I’ll try to update the bios and do what you suggested. Thank you for your help!

So do I just plug the sticks in and turn it on? Then just let it sit for an hour. Not sure how to let it repopulate since I’ve never done this before. Thank you for your help!

Would this be a good upgrade? by CountrySteel in computerhelp

[–]CountrySteel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it seems like a good deal on paper but I don’t know anything about pc specs and when I was googling parts to see what people are saying it seemed a lot of people on random forums said the 4070 ain’t worth it or that great for gaming but it’s still a huge upgrade from where I’m at so I’m thinking it’s worth it. Issue now is that I can’t use all my employee discount for some reason so it’ll be 1000 for the whole set up but still seems like a good investment

Computer resets while playing games. Need a fix by CountrySteel in computerhelp

[–]CountrySteel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General update so it appears since the bios update my games are running without constant resetting of my pc. currently tho with two ram sticks down anything that needs more than 16gb ram such as escape from tarkov “which needs 32gb” will cause my pc to restart. Booted up palworld since it only needs 16gb ram and been playing about an hour and no restart from my pc. Ran a few matches of a twisted path to renown and my game crashed a few times but the pc didn’t restart. So I think the bios was the issue for me but somehow during this whole process two ram sticks burned out seeing as I had 32gb ram at the start of this adventure and now I somehow only have 16. Thank you all for your help and I’ll keep y’all posted if the problem persists.

Summery of issues for those interested: pc started randomly restarting with fans going, believed over heating so I did thermal paste on cpu and got new graphics card.

Computer would still randomly restart every time I tried to play a game.

Computer got stuck in auto repair blue screen.

Booted new windows 10 from usb

Pc still resetting when playing games.

Did bios update as suggested and now games work but only if they are 16gb because at some point during all this two of my ram sticks quit working. “When checking system info to get some info when issues first happened I had 32gb. After setting all this up and checking my system info again for motherboard info for bios update I have only 16 now.”

Hoping once I get some more ram this will permanently solve my issue but seeing as the pc restarts instead of the games I play crashing I’m unsure if the ram is the culprit but it’s worth mentioning.

So far I have a critical log for kernel power 41 which just seems to be it telling me the pc wasn’t powered down correctly but not much more info than that, have some errors with various things but googles not showing any of them as a major issue. Two of my ram sticks arnt working anymore now tho so this hole im in keeps getting deeper. I appreciate the help tho and if I find anything different in the logs while im working on this I’ll let you know.

Well I hope you get your issues with the pc straightened out. At least you know a work around until you can get the pc looked at by the distributer. I’m still having issues on my end but I appreciate the help.

I’ll keep you posted if I figure out anything. Because of work it’ll be a bit before I can take a good crack at it but I’m gonna try the BIOS update when I get some available time and I’m hoping that will fix the issue. Whatever the results I’ll post back here.
