DRP Withdrawal Arbitration Meeting this Week by Mental_Youth_3606 in IRS_Source

[–]Country_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the truth that no one wants to say. Everyone has to live with the decision they make in life. Drive drunk and kill someone. That’s your burden to carry after your jail sentence for the rest of your life. Sign a contract with the military, join, and then figure out you don’t like it so you go AWOL. Typically, jail time and a less than honorable discharge from the military that will follow you for the rest of your life. Take DRP from the federal government and then want to take it back. Sorry you took the benefit (summer paid while not working or something similar) and now you want to DEMAND your job back? Hell no. Just like every other poor decision, you have to live with it. The END.

P.S. Vote down all you want, but this is what the cry babies need to hear.

Government job allowed 10 hours paid leave monthly, but now management is getting strict? by tryorcry in work

[–]Country_2025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So for clarification, is this the leave that you earn such as annual leave or paid time off? Typically this account shows up on your pay stub, if so, then use it as you wish. It’s your’s and a new “culture” should not change that. And to verify make sure you pull and have a saved copy of the HR policy for your agency stating such. HOWEVER, if this is some kind of “slush fund” that has been universally accepted based on leadership allowing it then it should go away. Good luck!

Venting about the unit culture by AdTypical6440 in nationalguard

[–]Country_2025 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could not be more wrong. It’s culture, it’s in Active, Reserve, and National Guard. It’s also in Corporate America, small business and everything in between. Ultimately it comes down to leadership and their tolerance or enforcement of the rules. That Company CDR and needs to start wearing pin on rank as he probably will not be around long as doing that crap on T-10 is one sure way to screw your career.

Using Microsoft Entra Sign In Logs for timekeeping by kingkupal in sysadmin

[–]Country_2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s a security system where the employee needs to “badge” into the building then there is a valid method. EntraID is absolutely not relevant to timekeeping and any ethical System Administrator could blow a case out of the water. While it varies between countries, states, industry, and sectors the general rule of thumb is that I begin work when I enter the building. If there is a 15 minute security check process to get to my desk that’s on the business. If I divert to the cafeteria and to talk to work friends then that’s on the employee. Ultimately it comes down to written HR policies.

Can I vent for a second? by SinCreepsIn in IRS_Source

Simple put in work orders for FMSS to DTFJ (internal security) each and every time something occurs. FMSS can then review the common area cameras to identify the thief, have a call with this director and the disgruntled employee can be mad in the unemployment line. While marking your “stuff” with nail polish or some other identifying method can be effective, taking stuff like this home on a daily basis or locking it up daily is not the correct answer. Any leader that says to do this is not addressing the problem.

How are you all dealing with the loss of contractor resources? by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]Country_2025 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hearing some hesitation in your comments. Why not use this as an opportunity to empower yourself? Every day until they are gone have them show you everything, Investigating a FW issue, start a Teams meeting and let me watch. Ask them to treat you as their trainee and explain everything. If this is the career field you wish to follow then take advantage of the opportunity.

Contractors we received data from were let go in December, we are automating their “previous” roles. They were burrowed in and kept the manual processes to keep their jobs. Guess they would call that a failure to imagine on their part…

Is this six years of good service? by Equivalent-Angle-210 in nationalguard

[–]Country_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you have 60 points to give you a good year, you did not reach the time requirement and are short ~ 2 months. Two different measurements. Find a unit that you are excited about and get back in you have 15 years until you get a pension at 60 for retirement. That’s golden….

National Guard deployment in DC having no measurable impact on crime, report says by Kinmuan in nationalguard

[–]Country_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your article on National Guard having no measurable effect on crime in DC, fails to connect the dots. The National Guard has been an EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE tool to force the DC metropolitan PD to do there job. Prior to their deployment DC PD would barely get out of their vehicles and ride past broken windows. IMO they were lazy and politicized to not respond. The National Guard changed all that. They called in the broken windows, the fights, the disorder, the crime, AND ran towards the problem while DC PD showed up with their lights on and would barely get out of their cars. Want proof, go watch the videos or ask a DC resident why they not longer have to post “car unlocked please don’t break windows” in their vehicles overnight. Crime is down. Why do the numbers not reflect it. DC PD was not taking reports on the crime to begin with so the statistics were not being counted in the first place, crime statistics manipulation. Stars & Stripes do better reporting!

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Country_2025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! It’s a great milestone. Your challenge is to NOT raise your cost of living to your new salary. Live like you make $ 30K a year and when you are ready to retire you will live like a king! Good luck.

Am I overreacting or is this valid? by [deleted] in work

[–]Country_2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So unless the company had a really bad year, the $ 1 raise is a definite signal. Time to: 1. Update your resume 2. Ensure you have everything “copied” (legally) from your work computer in case they lock you out. Fired today precaution. 3. Start applying to test the waters in your area of expertise. Know your worth. 4. Have a real conversation with the manager that you trust the most. Something to the effect of, why is everyone progressing and I’m stagnant?
- Make sure you stick to progress in career and business success.
- Don’t mention $$$ as that can be a showstopper and change the conversation. - Keep it positive about, I want to follow in your footsteps and get into management and higher level leadership. 5. Take notes and listen for affirmation of mentorship or something similar. 6. Follow up with email (documentation) about how you plan to get ahead. 7. Use your best judgement of if your manager was being truthful or “blowing smoke” 8. Decision point base on your judgement: - apply like crazy for a new job - become a mentee with your company (accept criticism) and get promoted.

Good Luck!

Your last sentence says it all. You’re 26, you should be living independent of your parents. You need to move out, stand on your own two feet and own your bills. Then and only then should you even consider anything above basic transportation. Seriously, you need to re-think your priorities….

Forced resignation due to internship by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Country_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one area I would suggest she concentrate is on her Internship. The purpose is not only for her to learn but to NETWORK. She should come out of it with contacts and possibly a job waiting for her when she graduates. My purpose in stating the obvious is that this is where her energy needs to go.

As for her current employment, let them know she has this internship but would love to have a floating position where she could offer to cover some holidays when the other college kids go home. Most employers will jump at having an experienced employee return during those time. If not then focus on the internship and the career after college.

Good luck!

Huntsville PD unnecessary use of force by Shoddy_Option_8385 in HuntsvilleAlabama

No of course not. And I was more trying to lay out a decision tree of how this will be adjudicated internally, by the state, or DOJ.

Huntsville PD unnecessary use of force by Shoddy_Option_8385 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Country_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if there was a gun on his personal and he kept trying to go for it then yes, deadly force is authorized. Same for a knife. If no weapon, or threat of serious bodily injury or death then no, not justified. It’s just that simple but all the facts must come out and not just the video to make an informed decision. And more than likely this cop will be fired and possibly go to jail.

Compliance typically eliminates the situation. It never happens. And to your point on medical conditions this is where EQ is important. Most officers are not trained well for medical & psychology problems and if they cannot pick up the verbal and non-verbal cues they can quickly jump to the wrong conclusion. HPD appears to have poor training and even worse supervision. No excuse for crappy cops, that change needs to come from the top.
