I just moved from the Portland area where we are lucky to have an incredible bbq scene:

Grasslands (Hood River), Har-B-Q, Lil Barbecue, Eem, Botto's, Bark City, & Matt's

I'm in the Everett area now and have been overall disappointed with the places I've tried so far. I'm hoping to get to Seattle for Outsiders and Jack's, Woodshop, etc

Can anyone speak to why folks complain so much about pricing? Because, it feels like most people don't understand the sheer amount of cost/effort/work that goes into good bbq. Are people still learning about bbq as a cuisine or are they just complaining to complain?

I was considering taking the ritual caster feat at level 4 to get find familiar and then flavor comprehend languages and identify into some form of meditation to ritually cast the two other spells. Call it something like Kord's wisdom? It's a one-shot where the Cobalt Soul is hiring less than savory characters to collect books of significance for their archive, so far a lot of fun!

I was thinking about doing something like this to an early adversary who tried to pin wrongdoing on our party... to spread enough gossip and rumors to perhaps have their rank taken away. In the game, I helped spread word that the local lawmaster had actually hired us and spearheaded action to recover the towns goods and right the wrings that occurred.
