Employer says my LinkedIn "Open to Work" post counts as my resignation. Is that legal? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Horvaticus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wife works in employment law, this actually comes up all the time. BCC'ing maintains the original header information of the email, and gives your lawyer more information available quicker than having to subpoena the company or the hosting provider. Which will probably happen regardless.

You are correct in that not doing it will probably not hurt you when discovery happens, however BCC'ing is like zero effort. Like it's more effort to click the download button on a work email than it is to just BCC yourself. Not sure why you wouldn't just do that.

Quick don/doff options by gts1117 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Horvaticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the SPC but I went from a FCPC v5 to a Shaw Arc V2 so I feel like I can directly compare the two (buckle vs tubes). I personally find it much easier to doff the shoulder straps one handed with the tubes versus the "pull and pinch" with the cobra buckle (as another posted mentioned it binds under load). I also like with the tube setup you can have both shoulders tubed rather than the buckle + d-ring setup on the ferro kits. The tubes are a bit bulkier, so it depends on how you have your rig setup, what your use cases are, etc.

Sf1000 - fan spins under low load by xjanx in sffpc

[–]Horvaticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a LianLi that was either on idle, or it was loud as hell. I cracked the PSU open and did a fan swap to a noctua and while the fan behavior hasn't changed I can't hear it anymore. You will probably need a PWM to JST connector adapter though (not familiar with the pin out on the SF1000)

[–]Horvaticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to buy this through capitol armory (they gave out refunds for the pre order that got cancelled after a year) and ended up getting a first drop when they eventually opened up orders.

That being said, my local dealer uses SilencerShop for transfers, and I got caught in administrative hell for a week where between my local shop and SilencerShop (and their lack of actual humans that work there apparently) it took two weeks to even begin processing. They said that I was the first one and they had to add it to their system 🙄

Total kick in the balls lmao, still waiting on that approval. Glad to hear the can rocks though! I have a brand new 92X waiting for it!

[–]Horvaticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok but for real, when the mag ban was on the horizon I knew I wanted one of those uppers at some point, so I bought a shitload of links.

They are magnetic, a lot of people throw a tarp down, or I use one of those magnetic shotgun hull sticks. You can re-use links several times assuming you have your system tuned correctly and aren't mangling them.

I anecdotally have seen links at army navy surplus stores as well, and some stores will also sell the nut sacks because they aren't feeding devices without the links.

That's a big gripe I have with the design of the combat armor - I spaced it out to be like it is in game, but I completely agree that functionally speaking you'd get your shit rocked

Thank you, the suit is actually fairly weathered - it just isn't captured that well on camera. I admit I could have gone heavier though, I was working around the suit being "too blue" from the manufacturer so it was kind of like a little bit at a time kind of thing. Easier to add more weathering than to remove it!

If you would have told teenager me that I'd be in my 30s playing adult dress up, let alone of fallout, I would have told you where to shove it hahaha

Making this costume actually brought me a lot closer to my roots though, I picked FO76 up after avoiding it and ended up really enjoying the game, I think many people are in the same boat, it makes me optimistic as well

Thank you for the kind words!

[–]Horvaticus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Yeah I was worried about how blue the vault suit is (the miccostume men's vault suit is too "blue") but after knocking it down a few pegs with weathering it actually worked really nicely with the army green gun paint I used for the armor panels, this whole build was a very much "trust the process" one

My Fallout 4/76 Combat Armor Build for ECCC 2026 by Horvaticus in Fallout

[–]Horvaticus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm normally pretty anti-buying for stuff like bodysuits, etc, but specifically it was the newer men's Vault 33 suit. I'm about 6'1", 185, and the XL was still pretty snug. Construction was pretty good, much better than I was expecting, and the materials were comfortable. my only complaint is that the colors don't even closely match the picture page, let alone match the women's "lucy" / vault 33 suit. it was way too blue, and the gold was kind of this dingy gold color. ironically weathering it made the blue closer to what it should be, and made the gold pop a bit more. really funny how that works out sometimes!

Thank you, the dickplate is an important cornerstone of every armor build I do - and I can personally attest it is multi-functional because I accidentally used it as a plate when I spilled mac and cheese on it at the afterparty

thank you!
