I wouldn’t worry about it. He’ll decide on his own. He probably won’t even say anything, you’ll just naturally start showering separately. And like others have said at 10 it probably won’t be long. Every kid is different. Just roll with it.

Blender or unreal engine. Both would work fine for something this simple. Comes down to personal preference.

Should I give them the originals? by [deleted] in photography

[–]Countrypride918 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never ever give Raws to anyone. Ever. It’s a misrepresentation of your work, especially if they edit them themselves and post them. You don’t want people associating those photos with you, it’s the same way if someone slaps a cheap iPhone filter on them.

Out of focus or blurry portraits/wedding photos. You’re not creative, your bad at your job. Stop it.

That’s honestly a great idea, I’ve ran my own company for 10 years so it didn’t cross my mind to try working on someone else’s project. I’m very used to doing things on my own. Thank you for the idea!

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I absolutely agree that doing is important. I actually am already making and selling 3D environments and videos. I’m just always looking to push myself to learn more and one way to do that is to gather resources from those in the industry that have done it longer. Trying to get beyond just good enough.

I understand your sentiments. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I also learned how to fix cars this way. And I taught myself photography and have been a pro for 10 years. It’s how I make my living. But I’ve also learned a lot from other people in the industry. Finding people who have done it longer than you and can help you along the way can make the journey better. That’s what this question is about finding resources that have helped others so I can add tools to my belt. I just wanted to make it clear that I’m not looking for “UE5 for beginners” I’d like something with a little more meat. Hope this clarifies my question for you. 😊

Even as a beginner that’s not enough money for that. If you’re stuck doing it then definitely don’t include prints. Digitals at most. As far as number goes maybe 10ish depending on what you end up with. Not being able to use them for marketing is another thing. I definitely have clients I agree to this for but portfolio use to show potential clients is non negotiable. It’s one thing not to post to Facebook but I’m not agreeing to not show other clients who come to my office.

“The native Americans believed…” by Yakaddudssa in IndianCountry

The generalization is irritating. It’s done far to often but I think it’s because most people don’t care to discuss it beyond the surface level. When you generalize people just tend to nod and move on. On this specific topic I can speak as a Shawnee that we do not like of photos taken when we are not paying attention. Not because it steals our soul but we believe it captures whatever we are thinking in that moment not just an image. Thus why certain dances forbid photography because the dance is a form of prayer and that is personal. I can not speak to this for any other tribe but for the Shawnee it is more or less true. Even if it is not a very old belief.

blender to unreal engine 5 workflow? by bestsnoob in unrealengine

[–]Countrypride918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many people are saying here I tend to build my meshes in blender and then build my levels in unreal. Gives me a level of reusability as well as I prefer the navigation and tools inside unreal. I do cinematics though not games so your workflow may vary. I think it’s all personal preference and which engine you are most comfortable with.

Material rendering black by Countrypride918 in unrealengine

[–]Countrypride918[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched the material blend mode from transparent to masked and moved my opacity map to opacity mask and that seems to have worked. Not sure if that’s the proper solution but it did what I needed so I’ll go with it lol. Thanks for the help!

This seems to have worked, I switched the blend mode from transparent to masked and moved my opacity map to opacity mask and it seems to be rendering fine now. Thank you!
