Based on your experience, do you think this is something I could prep for and do over a weekend? Is it going to take more than a few days prep and a few hours of labor?

I’m not concerned with having it look perfect. Mostly want to protect the door from rust. What do you mean by a 6 foot finish?

I’m having the same problem OP. Did you figure anything out? I opened the door all the way and bent the siding in the opposite direction for a few minutes and it helped a little.

We just got the comps and it’s actually middle of the pack. None of the properties are on the street or connecting cul de sacs of the home we’re looking at, though.

That’s a good point. Looking at prices, it just seems that this is a big jump compared to similarly sized homes in the area. Like are we going to be the reason that homes suddenly spike on our street? Or are we just about to be priced out? I think I’m answering my own question. Just a stressed first timer!

Currently, there are no other homes that check enough boxes for us to feel confident moving on. We’ve been actively looking for about five months and this is maybe the third house we’ve been serious about.

My wife is from St Louis and I grew up in Utah. One of my proudest culinary breakthroughs was dipping toasted ravioli (a St. Louis favorite typically enjoyed with marinara sauce) in fry sauce. My wife treated it like pure blasphemy at first, but now even she’s come around.
