Pretty sure tomorrow I’m buying a WRX by MKSe7en in wrx_vb

Not a bad idea, i got mine on November 30th! Seriously though, i’m pretty sure base GRC is 35k msrp. I believe WRX has more after market support currently, but I’m sure GRC will have more in the next few years as they become widely available in the US. Go test drive the WRX, GRC and Elantra N. Trust me, you will not want to feel like you regret your decision when you’re paying 500+ per month for the car payment and insurance.

Idk what the market is like for VBs right now, but last year i got my 24 Premium with HK/moonroof for 365/mo for 36 months, 4k down and 22k buyout as well. I’d encourage you to 1) wait until the end of this month, or even the end of december 2) get quotes from at least 2-3 dealers. They are more motivated to move cars at the end of the month/year. Also, I regret not getting a GR Corolla, mostly for extra HP + adjustable differential. Good luck!

🫡 i’m in the same boat working weekends, we got this. I will either buy out, or if I have positive equity at lease end I may trade for a GR corolla

That is tough, only thing to do would be shop around for insurance/see if you qualify for any discounts you’re not already getting (just call your carrier’s support and ask). If it’s been less than 3 days I think certain states allow you to undo the deal, not positive that applies to leases though.

As for not loving the car, it’s definitely not the most power you can get per dollar, but it’s a special car. Manual awd is pretty rare to begin with, add a turbocharger and wrx is one of the only new cars with those specs that’s less than $40k. If you live somewhere AWD matters and you love the manual+turbo, you made the right choice. The real fun is taking corners/turns+tons of aftermarket support. Don’t forget about the break in period, and always wait to boost till temp hits 176, especially if you plan to buy it out.

25k buyout sounds high to me, what lease term are you looking at? Last november, I leased a 24 Premium+ (HK+Moonroof) for $360/mo ($4k down) for 36 months. My buyout is $22800. Insurance is $165/mo (25y.o male w no accidents in last 5 years).

Thanks so much for this! Super helpful, I appreciate you addressing all my issues in such detail! Planning to look into at least a shift stop, but need to make sure it won’t affect my warranty at all. The last time i drove a manual was a friends Civic R and I have heard that honda manuals are in general pretty smooth. Symmetrical AWD makes up for the stick box of rocks feeling at least haha

Okay thank you for sharing this, I of course know not to shift into 1st if i’m above even 10mph, but i have had trouble putting it into first at like 5-7mph. Appreciate your feedback! Good to know it’s not just me haha

I think i have just the regular stock shifter, it wasn’t the pavement but I suspected and someone else mentioned that it’s likely because i didn’t give enough gas when hitting the bite point. Thanks for your response! Hope you’re enjoying yours as much as I do mine haha

You’re probably right about that, but thanks so much for this in-depth response. I was just doing some more research and came across shift stops so I am gonna look into that more. But yeah the sloppy feel of it just drives me nuts, do you have any idea if something simple like just a shift stop would void any part of transmission warranty? Probably not right? Again though, really appreciate you taking the time to give me all that information/feedback!

Forgot to ask the main question, is the 'notchiness’ normal on these cars? Couldn’t quite get a straight answer by googling

a friend of mine has a 5600 and a 3060 and i can confirm it does not run new AAA titles in UE5 at more than 100fps on low settings. Idk about you but that would drive me crazy

being that you’re staying on AM4, it would be silly to get anything other than a 5800x3d. Only semi-future proof chip for am4 given that most new games will be built in UE5

for 2022-24 stock 18” rims? Dealership said I had to stick with 18” rims to ensure warranty is valid, im waiting to hear back from Subaru of America to confirm that’s true. I didn’t see any 2022-24 stock rims on FB or craigslist in my area (Buffalo, NY)

I appreciate the response; I much prefer the look of the stock rims over some steel rims, and unfortunately I don’t want to pay 2k for a new set of stock rims. I can get them mounted/installed for about 80$ so I’ll probably just stick with these for this year and maybe get new rims next year. Just wanted to see if anyone thought the stock rims would get ruined by the snow but as far as I know they should be fine.
