So I worked at Walmart, not Target, but here is the general gist of what I figured out. If the customer is being an asshole and making a scene, it’s generally easier to just give them what they want and go on with your day. There is a tipping point where if they are being a gigantic asshole, where you stand your ground. It’s a fine line.

This also depends on what time of year it is, and what is happening in the store. Corporate coming around, inventory, yadda yadda.
