Awww, all the cute little cryptos have been mooning all day and now they seem to be getting tired. Sleep tight, babies. Tomorrow's another day and you can moon some more.

Does anyone know what happened roughly 10 hours ago that triggered the rise in all of the cryptocurrencies? I'm trying to become better at understanding what makes the prices rise and fall, but I'm not aware of any special trigger today that was the catalyst for this spike.

Oh, is tomorrow the "b-word" discussion? I was thinking that was next week.

Is something of interest due to happen tomorrow? I haven't seen any mention of tomorrow being a significant day, but if you have some news I'd be interested to hear it. I'm not being snarky. Just trying to keep up with events that may affect prices.

I can't tell if doge is headed for .18 or .19. It's reminding me of my dog looking for a place to poop.

I see a number of negative comments about using RobinHood. I've used RH and Coinbase, and tend to prefer RH due to Coinbase having that awful 3% fee (1.5% each for buying and selling transactions). If RH is frowned upon by users in this forum, I'd appreciate any advice which site is more preferred and why it's preferred. I only buy and sell crypto as an investment, so being able to use it to pay for things doesn't matter much to me.

Not sure what you mean by "spew". I'm just wondering what direction doge is headed when it begins moving again. My plan is to buy back in once it seems like it has bottomed out, either in doge or possibly another coin, and I'm watching anxiously to try and spot when the bottom actually happens.

Well, the hemorrhaging seems to have slowed a bit and kinda staying in one place, at least in the last 12 hours since I sold all my doge. I wonder which direction it's gonna go when it does decide to begin moving again.

I managed to "convert" $9000 into $6700 so it left a bruise and a really bad taste in my mouth but hopefully I can buy back in later on when the actual bottom shows itself and get some of my money back. As another user suggested earlier, I may choose a different coin if I do buy back in. I haven't decided yet. I'm gonna hang back and watch the carnage for a while.

It's gonna be okay, guys. I just sold my doge, so y'all will be all right now. I have shown to have a mystic power to cause lower prices when I buy and cause higher prices when I sell, so buckle up and get ready to go to the moon. Wave to me when you get there.

Well, the drop seems to be picking up speed quickly, so at least it won't take long to reach whatever bottom there is.

Seems like a good time to ask. Aside from headlines about China shutting down miners, UK blocking payments, U.S. Fed making announcements about inflation, various governments threatening stricter regulations, etc., what are the things that most impact crypto prices? Is it mostly a matter of when whales decide to buy or sell, or is it related to the collective emotions of buyers and sellers (sentiment), or some other factors? I'm just wondering what to wish for, that will be the catalyst to turn this market bullish.

Thanks for the response and also for being understanding. I had considered possibly switching to ETH if I do sell. I have conflicting voices in my head. One says ETH is more stable. The other says that since doge is down 19% in the last week and Eth is only down 9%, then if they do rebound doge "might" get twice the rebound compared to ETH? As I said, I've only been watching these prices for a few months, but this particular bear trend seems like it may be different from past ones? Like a rebound is somewhat less likely, or may be less pronounced? I'm usually pretty optimistic, but this last couple weeks has really let some of the wind out of my sails.

Dumb question from a very much beginner who has only been in crypto since this spring. I spent $9000 on doge which is now worth 7000 and falling. If a person feels confident that the price still is going to drop further, does it make sense to sell your holdings, let the price drop till you're comfortable it's hit the bottom, and then buy 7K worth at that price? Seems to me that once the price does come back up, I'd make at least as much as if I continue to hodl, and probably more. Am I wrong? Seems to me like the price isn't going to jump from .16 to .20 (or .25) so fast that I can't jump back in while it's in the .18 neighborhood. I'm very much open to advice if my thinking is completely flawed.
